Fanshawe College Becomes Recognized Program in the PGA of Canada Training Academy presented by Titleist and Footjoy

(Acton, ON) - The PGA of Canada is pleased to announce that Fanshawe College’s Golf and Club Management diploma is the newest program to be recognized by the PGA of Canada Training Academy presented by Titleist and Footjoy.

The addition of Fanshawe College’s program comes after an extensive review of the courses, learning outcomes and delivery methods used by the school. It was only after this wide-ranging review that the PGA of Canada elected for Fanshawe College to join Humber College, Georgian College, McMaster University and the LPGA as recognized programs in the Training Academy.

“After looking deeply into Fanshawe College’s Golf and Club Management diploma, the PGA of Canada is very impressed at the thought and level of care the faculty put into designing the various course syllabuses,” said PGA of Canada CEO Kevin Thistle. “We are very excited to recognize the program in our Training Academy and look forward to working alongside the next generation of PGA of Canada apprentices who receive a diploma from Fanshawe College.”

Students enrolled in the Golf and Club Management program are required to meet a minimum grade of 70% in each of the courses that have been reviewed and approved for equivalency into the PGA Training Academy.

"We are very excited for our program to be formally recognized by the PGA of Canada,” said Rob Foster, Fanshawe College Golf & Club Management Diploma Coordinator. “This will provide our students a great opportunity to align their diploma with the PGA of Canada Training Academy.

“The Fanshawe College Golf & Club Management program has been teaching the business of golf since 2006 and values our affiliations with organizations that help students further their education to meet their vocational goals,” added Foster.

Students will be responsible to submit official transcripts to the PGA of Canada’s education department for review and credit allocation.
