The partners of Öviinbyrd continue to invest in the overall experience for both its Members and staff. In 2022, the club invested $2M in improving the practice facility to create a best in class practice experience. The practice facility underwent a complete driving range redesign of both the fairway and targets, an addition of a 27,000sqft tee-deck at the back end of the driving range which also features an additional short game area, plus a 5,000sqft practice putting green.
The most significant feature of the practice facility renovation is the addition of a brand new, state-of-the-art teaching facility. The building features Foresight, Swing Catalyst & TrackMan technology to enhance the member experience during lessons and club fittings. The renovated practice facility will also feature TrackMan Range; a flexible golf-ball tracking solution with tour-proven technology and the industry’s best virtual golf, practice and entertainment software.

The ideal candidate must be a proven instructor who possesses great communication and managerial skills. Extensive experience in golf instruction and player development programs is a must. The Teaching Professional will provide the members and guests of Öviinbyrd Golf Club with “best in class” service in an organized and professional manner creating a memorable experience.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Golf.

- Responsibilities

- Provide the highest level of customer service on an on-going basis in a professional and friendly manner.
- Utilize Foresight, Swing Catalyst and TrackMan when appropriate and applicable in all programs.
- Perform club fittings as well as minor club repairs.
- Oversight of the Practice Facility staff and operations.
- Establish programs that encourage membership participation for all ability levels.
- Conduct and manage programs to include clinics, juniors, group, private lessons and elite player development.
- Maintain and supervise the instruction and practice facilities to ensure safe, clean, organized and professional conditions exist throughout each day.
- Frequent play with Members of all levels.
- Develop marketing/media materials for all programming and provide content for the club’s website, app and member communications.
- Be available for special club events in a non-teaching capacity along with demo days and club fittings as required.
- Serve the needs of the members and guests in accordance with the operational and health & safety policies and procedures outlined in the Öviinbyrd Golf Club Employee Handbook, Policies and Procedures booklet and your detailed job description.

- Qualifications

- PGA of Canada Member in good standing.
- 5+ years of teaching experience.
- Experience and knowledge of current golf trends, club fitting and club repair.
- Experience with Foresight, Swing Catalyst and TrackMan is an asset.
- Exceptional playing ability.
