Job Summary

Focus of the position supports and assists the General Manager and the Associate Golf Professional in all aspects of running the Golf Operations on a daily basis with the goal of providing a fun and caring environment to help create special memories for our guests / members.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Works the majority of the time outdoors
  • Must be able to bend, reach, lift at least 30lbs
  • Must be able to walk and stand for an average of 8 hours per shift
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
Responsibilities

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  1. Demonstrates through their own behaviour the Service Culture Standards of Living Water Resorts in providing a fun and caring environment for our guests / members and fellow team members which in turn will create special memories.
  2. You are responsible for supervising and scheduling all golf services staff and volunteers.
  3. Ideally you will have a solid working knowledge of MS office and Chrono Golf POS; are working toward your professional designation and have excellent customer service skills.
  4. Responds to guest complaints and resolves them in a way that ensures the guest is satisfied, will return again and that every guest departs happy.
  5. Maintains and delivers a “no compromise” attitude towards providing the highest possible level of Hospitality, Quality and Value to the guest.
  6. Adheres to all of the mandatory written standards of operations, policies, procedures, manuals, oral instructions, employee handbook, collective agreement that is in place at Living Water Resorts.
  7. To be informed on and promote all club activities and services.
  8. Enforce all rules and regulations governing golf course usage.
  9. To oversee clubhouse cleanliness both indoors and outdoors.
  10. Assist in supervising the back shop golf team.
  11. Answering all incoming calls to the golf shop in a professional and friendly manner.
  12. Manage the club repair side of business.
  13. Has a general knowledge of the resort’s facilities and services.
  14. Adheres to all Health & Safety policies and procedures and works in a safe manner at all times.
  15. May perform other duties and functions as assigned based on business levels throughout the resort.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the General Manager & Associate Golf Professional in Daily Supervision of Golf Operation and being an integral part of the team
  • Be responsible for the teaching program at Cranberry Golf Course
  • Set-up lessons as needed.
  • Provide Group Lessons & member clinic programming.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This position requires a responsible, mature individual with initiative and a hands-on approach. The incumbent must be well organized, flexible and have the ability to prioritize for maximum efficiency. This position requires someone with strong interpersonal skills, who is responsive to internal and external demands.

Qualifications
  • Member in good standing with the PGA of Canada
  • Enrolled or completion of a PGM Program (preferred but not required) 
  • Motivated to succeed in the Golf Industry
  • Golf Teaching experience
  • Assist with merchandising and managing golf shop inventory.
  • Ensures accurate entering of orders, sales, discounts, proper cash management and completes daily cash balancing.
  • Ensures the cleanliness of the Pro Shop, rental equipment, stock rooms, and public areas, ensuring all appropriate health and safety regulations are met.
  • Ensures proper opening and closing procedures are completed, including responsibility for ensuring proper opening and lock up of the facility.
  • Desire to exceed customer expectations
  • Responsible for assisting with the coordination of all member events
  • Provide exceptional customer service with members and guests
  • Monitor Outside Services staff and volunteers regularly to ensure a high level of customer service is being delivered consistently
  • Quick learner and a creative problem solver
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be available weekends and holidays
  • Being certified in SmartServe, WHMIS, Health & Safety is an asset.
Compensation

$600-$800 per week plus lesson commissions based on experience
