The PGA of British Columbia has an opening for a self-motivated, team-oriented candidate to join the Association’s administration team as Programs Manager on a full-time basis.

The PGA of British Columbia is a member-funded, not-for-profit Association consisting of over 800 Golf Professionals who serve and operate nearly 200 golf facilities throughout the province of British Columbia. The Association’s administration office is currently located in Richmond, BC.

Job Summary
This position is ideal for a candidate looking to join an engaged sports administration team that prides itself on delivering high-level value and enhanced experiences to its membership.
Responsibilities

Core Duties

Program Management:

  • Responsible for the overall operational execution of Association programs, including but not limited to: Junior Golf Month, Women’s Golf Month, Golf-a-thon, Teach-a-thon, Awards Program, Fall Trade Show, and general assistance with Tournaments and Education events
  • Working closely with program partners while sourcing other partners and analyzing potential strategic partnerships
  • Liaising with the PGA of Canada National Office to ensure consistency within programs
  • Maintenance and updating of the Program pages on the Association’s website
  • Recruits and trains volunteers as needed for programs and events

Administrative and Other Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the other Office Team Members to provide first-class service
  • Provide administrative assistance to Executive Director if/when needed
  • Assist in the implementation of Association policies, programs, and procedures
  • Office supplies & equipment maintenance
  • Answering general telephone & email inquiries made to administration office
  • Providing general membership services to Association members
  • Travel to events outside the Greater Vancouver area will be required
  • Both outside and inside work required, with some heavy lifting
  • Required to work weekends, evenings, and holidays when necessary; ‘Time in-Lieu’ is used to offset additional hours
  • Standard office hours are 8:00am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday; Work-from-home days are often an option
  • The Programs Manager will be responsible for any additional duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Executive Director
Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate will have completed relevant education or possess similar experience in program and/or event management.
  • They must be organized and detail-oriented with excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, a positive attitude, and effective self- management capabilities.
  • Candidates must also be comfortable dispensing friendly, accurate, and professional guest service.
  • Candidates must be well-versed in standard office suites (Microsoft Office, Teams, etc.).
  • The successful candidate will ideally hold a valid BC Driver’s Class 5 License and have access to reliable transportation.
  • Applicants are advised that many Association events take place at various locations throughout the year and as such, some evening and weekend travel & work will be required.
  • Experience within the golf industry and/or general golf knowledge is a strong asset but not required. Most importantly, the PGA of British Columbia is looking for an individual who will best fit our team dynamic and continue to grow with the Association.
Compensation
Starting annual Salary of $55,000-$60,000; Depending on Qualifications

  • Two weeks (10 days) paid vacation, plus paid time off during office holiday closure (an additional two weeks) in December/January
