- Job Summary
- Reporting to the Director, The Redwoods Golf Course, the Manager, Golf Operations is responsible for the overall leadership, organization, and functionality of golf operations, including the Golf Shop, Driving Range and Outside Services. This role will demonstrate exceptional guest service standards, drive department performance, and ensure seamless daily operations to provide an outstanding experience for guests and event participants.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all golf operations including the Golf Shop, Starter Shed and Driving Range
- Hire, train and develop employees including the creation and maintenance of training manuals
- Create and manage employee schedules and oversee payroll approvals
- Oversee programing of the tee sheet and online reservation system
- Program and maintain the Point of Sale system
- Oversee all retail operations including ordering, merchandising, inventory control, profitability etc.
- Implement effective tracking measures for purchases and sales
- Monitor cashouts, sales and refunds; ensure proper payment and/or cash handling procedures are followed
- Communicate with the Golf Course Superintendent regarding scheduled maintenance, course playability etc.
- Collaborate with other department managers to ensure consistent service standards and smooth daily operations
- Develop and execute strategies to increase rounds, retail sales and other revenue
- Oversee golf tournament staffing, set up, execution and tear down
- Oversee the Driving Range operations
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures
- Maintain safety standards and safety equipment within WorkSafe BC and JHSC requirements
- Program and monitor the Redwoods Golf App including the App-based loyalty programs
- Other duties as assigned

- Ability to work a flexible schedule as required by the demands of the facility
- Qualifications

- Five or more years of progressive experience in golf operations, or in a similar role or industry, is required
- Two or more years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role is required
- Completion of post-secondary education in a discipline such as Business Administration, Sport or Hospitality Management or other related discipline
- Valid Basic First Aid, with CPR-C and AED Certification, or equivalent will be required to be maintained during employment
- Willingness to complete a Police Information Check is required
- PGA of Canada member in good standing is an asset
