Junior Golf Assistant Coach - Balmoral G&CC Junior Academy

Brian Smith, in collaboration with his Junior Academy at Balmoral Golf Club, is looking for an assistant golf coach who is passionate about developing young golfers to join his coaching team during the 2026 summer season.

Balmoral's junior programs are structured according to Golf Canada's Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model, offering progressive, safe coaching focused on fun, progression, and performance.

Job Summary
Under the supervision of the head coach, the assistant coach will actively participate in delivering the Initiation (ages 7–12), Development (ages 12–16), and, depending on experience, competitive programs.
Responsibilities

Session planning

● Participate in the preparation and organization of training sessions

● Adapt exercises according to the age, level, and objectives of the young people

Coaching and supervision

● Supervise students during sessions on the field, practice areas, and field trips

● Ensure a safe, structured, and motivating environment Interaction with parents

● Communicate professionally with parents

● Answer basic questions and relay relevant information to the head coach

Session reports

● Produce short attendance and observation reports

● Contribute to monitoring student development

Qualifications

● Student or graduate in sports intervention, physical education, or a related field

● PGA of Canada certification (in progress or completed) or NCCP certification (an asset)

● Experience coaching young people (golf or related sport)

● Good communication skills and team spirit

● Passion for the long-term development of athletes

Compensation

● Hourly wage: between $20 and $25/hour (depending on experience and certifications)

● June 22 to August 13, 2026

● Number of hours: between 120 and 150 hours for the summer

Working hours are mainly during the day and late afternoon (depending on program blocks)
