Supreme Commander

If you are a “nutter” that loves golf, that’s a point for you. If you know who the Havercamps are, another point. If you have a general sense of how absurd golf can be, 2 points! If you can tell a joke, get it ready, because we like hearing them. If we laugh, 2 more points! If you’ve accumulated 4 points, we may have a job for you.

Cordova Bay Golf Course has a little sister, called the Ridge Course. The Ridge is a spectacular Par 3 Golf Course, Short Game Training Facility, and a Licensed Café. Our customers range in age from 5 to 95. Some are star players and others know only that “you hold the rubber end”. The longest hole is 120 yards and the shortest is a downhill 50 yarder with a green that is almost impossible to hold. The 6th hole’s green is surrounded on 3 sides by Lake Sayward that overflows its banks every year until we retrieve the 15,000 golf balls from its muddy bottom.

The Ridge needs a Supreme Commander that doesn’t mind getting a bit dirty, is slightly irreverent, and is brimming with confidence. One that is not afraid of monitors, keyboards, or children. You must know how to kibbitz, cajole, encourage, and celebrate with folks of all ages. It would help if you can do math without fingers and toes because you will need to manage inventories and order products for the Café. You will have autonomy to schedule yourself and your crew who you will supervise and work with side by side, so a patient, easy-going nature is vital … because nobody likes an uptight Supreme Commander.

Staffing will be shared with employees of the 18-hole golf course, which will provide all human resource support under the supervision of the Absolute Supreme Commander, Head Professional, Lance McCullough. This is an incredible opportunity to be mentored by a management team that has a stable of alumni running successful facilities all over Canada.
