The Challenge:
Reporting to and working closely with the Career Development Manager in this role, your responsibilities as the Senior Employment Coordinator will be to work collaboratively to manage, support, and help develop existing and future PGA of Canada – Employment Services. This individual is and will be an energetic and driven individual, poised to make a difference in developing/highlighting careers to PGA of Canada Members as well as being recognized by employers as a valued partner, helping them with their employer positioning.
Job Purpose:
The PGA of Canada’s employment department plays a vital role in supporting our members and the Canadian golfing community. For members, the employment department’s engagement through informative resources and supports provides the necessary vehicle to enhance their professional marketability, assisting them with ‘telling their story’.
For employers, we provide an understanding the value of PGA of Canada Professionals and what forward-looking strategies are necessary to attract, develop, and retain staff..
We are seeking an experienced and progressive individual to be front line in the department’s growth and a core member promoting and supporting enhanced employment services. At its core, we are striving to assist both members and employers in promoting their individual/unique value propositions in order to find the ‘Right Fit’ for a mutually beneficial relationship.
- Responsibilities

The Senior Coordinator, Employment is responsible for the delivery of Employment Services to PGA of Canada Members and employers across Canada. This hybrid role works with a variety of tools/resources as well as with our Zone offices to identify opportunities to support members seeking to grow their career options and employers seeking necessary talent for their clubs/facilities.
This is a key position that requires attention to detail, innovation, energy, multi-tasking and the ability to work in collaboration with a diverse mixture of internal staff, Zone staff and outside contacts. Excellent communication skills, an understanding of HR and talent acquisition principles, project/task management and public speaking experience (ie: job fairs/workshops) as well as customer service and facilitation skills are strong requirements of the position.
What you’ll do:
• Support members with career related inquiries by utilizing Employment – Tools and Resources, as well as using your professional expertise to consult/guide them on their career path while selling their professional value proposition.
• Manage the PGA of Canada- Job Board including but not limited to: submissions quality, system input, process communications, inquiries, Zone collaborations, and other posting related requirements.
• Help develop and manage a future ‘posting evaluation process’, to be used in understanding external (client) talent acquisition analytics.
• Manage employment related inquiries (membership, clubs/facilities)
• Suggest, support, and implement ongoing process improvements.
• Support the implementation of employment/talent acquisition projects including member and employer branding educating employers on the ‘Value of a PGA Member’ and how to attract and retain talent.
• Participate and support other people and culture and employment/talent initiatives, as required.
• Works with internal departments on the execution of the department operational plan and association’s strategic plan

What you bring:
• Post-secondary education, or higher, in a relevant field.
• Possess Human Resources experience or are enrolled in a related program.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Proven ability to perform administrative work of a complex nature with a focus on details and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
• Strong analytical skills, with strong technical aptitude
• Integrity and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Passionate about member support/development, as well as bringing together employees and employers in the “Right Fit”
• Building relationships with PGA members and Clubs/Facilities, and Zones alike is an integral part of growing the Employment Services department. The successful candidate will need to embrace this with a high willingness to engage with stakeholders.
• Exceptional critical thinking skills
• Ability to work and communicate in a team environment
• Preferable Qualifications
- A strong understanding of the Canadian sport system and non-profit sector
- Experience in a membership-based association
- Bilingualism (French & English)
