Bunker Hill Golf Club is a unique 12 hole golf course in Pickering, ON. We are customer-centric, social, collaborative and our goal is to deliver a great experience to all our guests from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave.

We are presently seeking an experienced individual to join our team as the Pro Shop Manager. This role requires the successful applicant to work with the ownership and Superintendent to ensure the success of our golf club operation. The key responsibility will be to manage all facets of the Pro Shop. This position includes maintaining and expanding current play while offering a professional environment to all visitors.

Job Summary
We are looking to hire one person with a fantastic personality that is customer service driven. You are outgoing, intelligent, know to to anticipate and read the room and most of all enjoy dealing with people. You will be working in our Pro Shop and will be the main point of contact for all of our guests. You will book tee times, process payments, sell drinks and merchandise and help to ensure our guests have a fantastic experience while on our property.
Responsibilities

This is a great opportunity for an aspiring PGA of Canada Professional looking to further their skillset and experience or for a person with a strong mix of golf/customer service/retail experience. Take the lead in suggesting, developing, implementing, and executing new sales technics and strategies for golf round sales, merchandise sales, food and beverage sales.

• Help develop and execute a golf marketing program, with a focus on email and social media marketing.

• Monitoring the tee sheets and optimization of them.

• Be accountable for the annual golf operations budget, monthly reporting, purchasing and inventory management.

• Work in coordination/communication with the Owner and Superintendent regarding golf operations.

• Responsible for securing and overseeing the cash out of Pro Shop employees.

• Responsible for hiring, training, planning, scheduling, and directing work, evaluating performance, and disciplining proshop employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems related to golf operations associated with the Pro Shop.

• Maintain the cleaning and organizing of the pro shop/ cleaning of golf carts and surrounding areas.

• Collect emails and other customer information to grow the company’s email and app marketing databases.

• Have the ability to implement, enforce and maintain Employer’s policies and procedures.

• Oversee league play - we have both Men's and Ladies Leagues.

• Other duties as assigned from the ownership.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education from a recognized business management, golf, or hospitality school, or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Knowledge on current regulation i.e., health and safety, food handling, liquor license etc.

• Minimum of 3 years in the golf industry.

• Smart Serve certification required.

• Valid Ontario driver’s license.

Skills/Abilities:

• Proven track record of team management, organizational, troubleshooting, and coaching skills.

• Comprehensive knowledge of expense control as it relates to payroll and the forecasting and budgeting of expenses.

• Ability to plan and execute events when required.

• Experience with golf industry software (Lightspeed)and Microsoft Office is a bonus.

Compensation

Weekly wage will be in the range of $700-$900 based on experience and maturity.

Employment Duration
This will be a full time role starting on April 3rd and ending on November 10th. You will be scheduled for 40-44 hours per week with shifts being varied (open, mid-day or close) depending on the day. We are open 7 days per week, so you will be working any of those 7 days during your weekly schedule.
