These include new golf courses, redesigns, driving ranges, practice facilities, putting courses, par-3 courses, indoor facilities and private residence golf installations. Many of these projects involve the installation of artificial turf and our patented ShotStopperTM baselayer system, the most realistic performing artificial turf product in the golf market, for which the successful candidates will be trained to supervise and execute the installation.

Job Summary

Golf Course Shaping and Artificial Turf Installation Specialist - THREE (3) POSITIONS AVAILABLE

Jansen Golf and its artificial turf and short game divisions, Pelz Player Greens and Raflewski Golf Design, are seeking two persons to assist with the construction and artificial turf installation on various Canadian (mostly Ontario at this time) and international locations. And in addition to taking on a role in the construction of our projects, you will also be asked, and can show initiative in other parts of the business of golf course design and construction. There are many opportunities to explore the business in this role.

Responsibilities

Job duties will include:

• Mandatory national and international travel (expenses paid for) to various locations for the duration of a few days up to a few weeks at a time. Note

• The finish shaping, compaction and smoothing of installation sub-base (crushed and compacted stone) to prepare the area for turf installation. This involves using excavators, skid steers, plate compactors and hand tools (rakes, rollers, etc.)

• Unloading turf product off semi-trucks upon delivery using forklifts or skid steers.

• Transport of turf rolls to installation locations using forklifts or skid steers.

• Rolling out and cutting turf based on plan sets, specifications, and project manager/architect direction.

• Seaming/gluing turf products together to create seamless installations.

• Edging and anchoring of turf product.

• Cleaning and disposal of turf wastage created during installation and preparing final product for opening.

• Installation of turf accessories like cups, flags, benches, signage, etc.

• Communicating directly in a professional/courteous manner to clients while on site.

• Working efficiently and effectively within a team and with various other contractors/sub-contractors to ensure excellent end results and professional relationships. Added responsibilities, based on interest and skill set, and compensated on experience, can/will include:

• Updating social media platforms with current project pictures/videos and responding to follower inquiries about potential projects.

• Engaging in sales opportunities both with senior company members as well as being rewarded on a commission basis for sales leads generated of your own accord. Contacts will be provided internally as well as encouraged for development on your own.

• Website development and updates based on internal research and technology expansion, as well as curating a content library of finished projects. Can/will also include a writing component in the form of an educational blog.

• The creation and curation of digital marketing and sales materials for distribution, based in every platform from Microsoft Suite to Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.

• Development of project management skills and practices, as well as added responsibilities on site and from an administration perspective.

• The development of administrations skills in accounting, budgeting, and all other areas involved in successfully executing projects and as a member of a growing small business.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience playing golf or working in the golf business

• Knowledge and experience with plate compactors, fork-lifts, skid steers, or mini-excavators

• Proficiency of hand tools and construction methods

• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to: working outside in various weather conditions, bending, hunching, kneeling, standing, balancing, climbing, stooping, crawling, walking, pushing, pulling and lifting 50+ lbs

• MS Office / Presentation skills

• Good organization and sales ability

• Valid drivers license

• Valid work authorization (Canada or the United States)

• Proficient in English

Compensation
Compensation: $200 - $250 per day commensurate on experience + other benefits + sales commission
