Job Summary

The Food and Beverage Manager is part of the Senior Management team and is responsible to manage all aspects of the Food and Beverage Department at Cardinal Golf Club. This includes the staff and operations of all food and beverage service on the golf course and at the clubhouses at Kettle Creek , the East and West Wing at Cardinal Golf Club, as well as RedCrest Golf Club.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the health and safety of all food and beverage employees by following all
• Establish and enforce the standards for performance for all food and beverage employees.
• Develop and enforce all policies and procedures for food and beverage operations.
• Prepare and operate within the annual operating budgets for all food and beverage outlets.
• Make recommendations for and capital purchases or projects required as they relate to food and beverage operations.
• Examine trends in the industry and the performance of the food and beverage department and make recommendations for consideration and implementation to the Director of Operations.
• Responsible for hiring, training, and terminating all food and beverage employees.
• Develops and implements inventory control methods for all food and beverage areas.
• Creates and maintains up to date training procedures for all food and beverage staff.
• Enforces all company policies and procedures as they apply to the food and beverage department.
• Promotes good housekeeping practices to ensure all food and beverage areas are clean, organized, and in good working condition.
• Oversees the scheduling for the department.
• Attends senior management meetings.
• Evaluates supplier relationships and makes recommendations to the Director of Operations on all supplier contracts and relationships.
• Develop promotions and marketing strategies for daily food and beverage sales.
• Coordinate necessary cleaning with the contracted cleaning department.
• Communicate all repair and maintenance needs to the Building Maintenance Department.
• Negotiate with clients for use of facilities for catering, parties and banquets 
• Execute and supervise the events 
• Order weekly Linens & Uniforms 
• Manages the guest reservation system
• Conduct daily pre-shift meetings with all F&B staff
• Create Monthly/events P&L 

Qualifications

• Must enjoy the service industry
• Strong Leadership skills
• Must possess strong character attributes including Respect, Integrity, Compassion and Courage and must promote the same character attributes throughout all department functions.
• Strong organization and administrative skills
• 5 – 7 years of managerial experience in food & beverage
• Must be Smart Serve Trained
• Must complete necessary Health and Safety Training provided by Cardinal Golf Club
• Food Handling Certification 
• Extensive wine and cuisine knowledge 
• Possess computer proficiency
• Prior experience working in the golf industry is an asset 
• Job requires you to be on your feet 100% of your shift
• Able to lift 25 pounds. Lifting, carrying and reaching up to 25% of the time
• Hospitality/Event/Catering Management Diploma or Degree is an asset 

Compensation

Salary range of CAD$ 50,000 - CAD$70,000 per year
