Job Summary

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to and working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Innovation Officer and Chief Financial Officer in this role, your responsibilities as the Director of Operations will be to work collaboratively to manage, support, and implement the strategic and operational requirements of the organization. The successful candidate will develop strategies and tools to help PGA of Canada leaders effectively build a high-performance culture through their own thoughtful, and exemplary approach to PGA of Canada Values in Action.

In short, you will work and collaborate with management/leadership, ensuring operational continuity and implementation, quality assurance/control, and fostering healthy supported zone relations.

POSITION LOCATION

PGA of Canada has their headquarters in Acton, Ontario. The Director of Operations will work in a hybrid model between headquarters and a home office.

Responsibilities

Leadership

Works with department leaders to manage and implement core projects

  • Planning the execution of strategic and operational deliverables and coordinates the contributions of key stakeholders to ensure effective implementation.
  • Supports the department heads with acquisition, development, engagement and retention of team members
  • Supports a learning culture of advancing employee capabilities & development with goals of enhancing performance and accountability

Collaboration

Acts as a trusted collaborator and partner to Canadian golfing stakeholders 

  • Works with leadership core of the Zone Executive Directors, Zone Presidents, Zone National board members and national staff to help synergize the relationships to work as one team
  • Develop strong relationships with other Canadian Golf Associations such as CMAC, NGCOA, Golf Canada, CGSA etc….
  • Networks with industry contacts to gather and identify competitive insights and best practices

Strategy

Strengthens the strategies and programs to advance mission, vision, and values and employee well-being across the organization

  • Contributes feedback, analysis, and ideas to further development-to-strategy to support the organization’s development initiatives are appropriately integrated and aligned with strategic goals
  • Responsible for the implementation of change management incorporating communications, education, and best practices in support of progressing strategic/operational initiatives
Qualifications

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES & ATTRIBUTES

  • Operational & organizational development experience in an entertainment / leisure activity / sport Management organization or a proven track record in the non-profit sector with relatable and similar accountability.
  • PGA member is an asset
  • Golf industry knowledge or the ability/willingness to quickly learn the industry.
  • High competence in project management, organizational development, and stakeholder management.
  • Proven capabilities as a senior leader that fosters an inclusive culture that prides itself and delivers world-class service and performance with a proactive, flexible accountable approach.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Bilingualism is an asset.
  • A forward-looking, best in class mindset.
  • A strategic thinker with a collaborative style.
  • Flexibility and the ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Post secondary education in business, leadership or related field an asset 



 

Compensation

The new member of the team can expect remuneration and benefits as follows:

  • Base salary based off competitive market opportunities
  • Eligibility of up to 5% bonus annually of base salary (performance based)
  • Hybrid work model
  • 4 weeks vacation, plus two-week holiday break in December
  • $2000 professional development budget annually
  • Health and benefits package
