Job Summary

Drayton Valley Golf Club is now accepting applications for a Head Golf Professional/ General Manger.

This is a permanent, year-round, full-time position that requires working various shifts including evenings, weekends, and some holidays. Applications will be accepted until January 22nd, 2024.

Responsibilities

• Working with the Course Superintendent on the development and preparation of budgets, including forecasting and review of all golf operations revenues and expenses

• The hiring, training, development, scheduling and supervising of all Pro Shop staff, Back Shop staff, and Beer Cart staff

• Enforce all club policies and regulations

• Daily pro shop duties including utilizing tee sheet operation, pro shop aesthetics,sales of goods, and opening/closing POS operation

• Organize operations of leagues, clinics, and other programs

• Provide golf lessons as requested

• Oversee management of club tournaments and group play operations in conjunction with our Course Superintendent and Caterer

• Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the community

• Responsible for the financial and operational performance of the golf shop operations and golf services

Qualifications

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Maintain an active Class A PGA of Canada member in good standing

• Minimum 5 years' experience in golfservices

• Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations, and tournament operations

• Experienced computerskills including Microsoft Word, Publisher, and Excel. Proficient in other applications, e.g., email, internet, tournament, database & POS. Experience with LightSpeed Software would be considered an asset

• Ability to lift 50 lbs

• Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license

Compensation

• Salary ranges from $70,000 to $100,000 per year

• PGA of Canada dues paid upon successful completion of season

• Performance based bonuses

• 100% of lesson revenue over and above salary

• Tournament and clothing allowance

• Professional development is also strongly encouraged

• Equipment package – determined by suppliers

• Dec 15 to February 15 (Only required to be available to respond to emails/phone calls)
