A nine-hole Academy Course complements its big brother on the shore of picturesque and historic Lake Joseph.

HEAD PROFESSIONAL / DIRECTOR OF GOLF
The Head Professional is a part of the senior leadership team at the club/property and is directly responsible for overseeing the golf services operations while working with other department head managers to ensure an excellent membership experience while continuing to be responsible for both the revenue and expense sides of the budget.
- Responsibilities

Daily and Weekly Operations
- Ensure that every department is ready to receive Members and guests, by walking all key locations where Members and guests will be visiting.
- Tee sheet to be coded/managed daily to maximize revenue possibilities.
- Preparation of tee sheet for coming week – look for upcoming days and release home club times as needed to allow reciprocal play and more guest opportunities.
- Review event sizes and modify tee sheet to ensure we are maximizing the use of the tee sheet for each event i.e. shot gun start, split start, modified shotgun etc.
- Managing corporate events versus Member play.
- Work with Captains Committees to develop a schedule of events with various themes/formats to improve participation.
- Coordinate with Turf and Hospitality on timing and event planning.
- Promotion and execution of Member events – ensuring start and finish times are met, create prize tables, draws and create unique formats.
- Ensure gift certificate procedures are being followed.
Employee Development
- Ensuring service standards are being met by staff – through guidance, management, and communications.
- Training golf services staff, starters, play coordinators, pro shop staff on all aspects of service standards. Such as: greetings, farewell, assistance to Members and Guests in maintaining position on the course, practice facility set up and staffing.
- Mentor Associate and Assistant Professionals.
- Conduct staff orientation annually and throughout the season when new staff join the team.
- Encourage, motivate, coach and provide constructive feedback with mid-season, and season-end reviews.
Communication and Leadership
- Ensure clear Member communication is in place. Website/calendar is up to date.
- Attend all clubhouse operation & leadership meetings, Health and Safety committee meetings.
- Assist/facilitate golf operations meetings.
- Establish effective communication with all employees (as well as the corporate office).
- Develop strong relationships with all Members and guests; maintain a visible presence in overall operations.
Sales and Promotions:
- Market all Member events and in-house promotions.
- Work with suppliers to create and implement promotions.
- Monitor patterns, sales trends, etc. ensuring positive financial results.
Administrative, Budgeting and , Financial
- Oversee expenses/invoicing.
- Implement revenue development such as club fitting, instruction, corporate merchandising programs, and developing relationships with Members.
- Provide optimum service while controlling costs.
- Correspondence with head office such as chit disputes and POS issues.
