Founded in 1929 and located near the heart of the Greater Toronto Area, St. George’s is considered one of the top private Clubs in Canada and receives frequent praise for its world-class golf course. Designed by the legendary golf course architect Stanley Thompson, the course has hosted five CP Women’s Opens and six RBC Canadian Opens, with the most recent in 2022 which was won by Rory McIlroy.

With a focus on golf as a primary aspect of the Club, St. George’s plans to continue its history of excellence with a dynamic Head Golf Professional. The ideal candidate will have a strong appreciation for the Club’s history, as well as an understanding of industry best practices and cutting-edge technology.
As an industry leader and strong ambassador for the game of golf, St. George’s requires a Head Professional with commensurate leadership and event management skills.
- Responsibilities
-
- Continuously elevate service and experience for members and guests.
- Oversee golf operations, including golf shop, driving and practice range, teaching and academy programs, including the continual assessment of the Golf Operations Team.
- Lead, manage, and inspire the golf shop, back shop, and golf instruction teams.
- Direct and manage all golf activities, including member and invitational events and tournaments, practice range facility, tee-time reservation system, back shop, cart operations, and more.
- Financial management of the golf operations budget, including preparation and implementation.
- Work with the retail manager and the pro shop team to manage the day-to-day retail experience, the Club custom-fit program, and corporate partnerships.
- Communicate professionally with members, guests, management, employees, and suppliers/tradespeople.
- Liaise with Club committees and all sub-committees as required.
- Be a golf industry innovator; attend national and regional conferences and meetings, merchandise shows, and educational and professional sessions.
- Enhance the reputation and image of the Club.
- Represent the Club in PGA tournaments as required.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Qualifications

- A proven track record as a Head Golf Professional, at a private club with a minimum of five-years’ experience.
- A passion and comprehensive experience for actively engaging and providing world-class service to members and guests.
- Class "A" PGA of Canada member (or equivalent) in good standing.
- An inspirational leader who can also direct and hold their team accountable.
- Must be highly organized, efficient and detail oriented.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills with an ability to work with committees and individual members.
- A strong business acumen is required to manage annual operating and capital budgets, and golf shop retail organizations.
