Job Summary
We're looking for a passionate golf professional who sees the game as we do - a way to bring people together, create lasting memories, and strengthen community bonds. As our Director of Golf / Head Professional, you'll report to the General Manager and serve as a key leader in shaping the golf experience at The Coyote. This isn't just about managing operations; it's about inspiring a love for the game in everyone who visits, from our dedicated members to first-time players and the Sundre community we proudly serve.
Responsibilities
  • Creating exceptional experiences for members, guests, tournament players, and community groups
  • Leading, mentoring, and energizing our Golf Operations team
  • Designing programs and events that balance competitive excellence with pure enjoyment
  • Bringing fresh ideas and innovative approaches to everything we do
  • Recruit, schedule, train, and support our Golf Operations staff
  • Foster a welcoming, team-oriented culture where everyone feels valued
  • Set the standard for warm, professional service that makes people want to come back
  • Manage tee sheets strategically to maximize access and revenue
  • Oversee all Coyote golf events and work collaboratively with our membership liaison
  • Supervise on-course services, including pace-of-play management
  • Contribute ideas to evolve our operations policies and procedures
  • Support the General Manager in broader facility operations
  • Merchandise and manage our golf shop with an eye toward what our community needs and wants
  • Maintain accurate inventory and point-of-sale systems
  • Develop and lead a personalized club-fitting program
  • Design and deliver an engaging teaching program for all ages and abilities
  • Create programs that welcome juniors, beginners, seasoned players, and community groups
  • Make golf approachable, fun, and rewarding for everyone
  • Contribute creative content for our social media, website, and email communications
  • Represent The Coyote at tournaments, community events, and fundraisers
  • Build relationships that strengthen our ties to Sundre and the surrounding region
  • Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed across Golf Operations
Qualifications
  • PGA of Canada Class "A" member in good standing
  • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff in a positive, collaborative environment
  • Strong organizational skills with experience managing events, leagues, and retail operations
  • Exceptional people skills. You genuinely enjoy connecting with others and are open to feedback
  • Problem-solver with initiative and adaptability
  • Commitment to your own professional growth
  • Experience with POS and booking systems (Tee-On Cloud and Golf Genius experience is a plus)
Compensation
$6,200 -$7,000 based on experience
