- Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Golf Professional to lead our golf operations, deliver exceptional member and guest experiences, and uphold the traditions and standards of our club. This role works closely with the General Manager and management team to ensure seamless coordination across all departments.
- Responsibilities

Golf Operations Leadership
- Direct all aspects of daily golf operations including tee sheet management, starter and marshal programs, pace-of-play monitoring, and course setup.
- Ensure smooth coordination with maintenance staff for optimal playing conditions.
Member & Guest Experience
- Serve as the primary ambassador of the golf program, greeting members and guests, resolving issues promptly, and fostering a welcoming environment.
- Develop initiatives to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
Instruction & Player Development
- Provide private lessons, group clinics, and junior programs.
- Create innovative teaching methods and player development pathways to grow participation across all skill levels.
Merchandise & Retail Management
- Oversee the golf shop including vendor relations, buying, merchandising, and inventory control.
- Ensure product selection aligns with member preferences and seasonal trends.
Tournament & Event Coordination
- Plan, promote, and execute club tournaments, corporate outings, and special events.
- Collaborate with food & beverage and other departments to deliver seamless experiences.
Staff Supervision & Training
- Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor golf staff including assistants, shop attendants, and outside services.
- Establish clear performance standards and foster professional growth.
Budgeting & Financial Oversight
- Work with the GM and management team on annual budgets, revenue forecasting, and expense control.
- Provide regular reporting and recommendations to improve operational efficiency.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all golf operations adhere to club policies, industry standards, and safety regulations. Promote a culture of responsibility and professionalism.
Community & Club Engagement
- Represent the club in local golf associations, charity events, and community outreach.
- Strengthen the club’s reputation and visibility within the region.
- Qualifications

- Class “A” Golf Professional with the PGA of Canada and member in good standing.
- Proven track record as a Head Golf Professional or Associate Golf Professional at a golf club.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor staff, fostering teamwork and professional growth.
- Experience managing multi-department coordination with GM and management teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate effectively.
- Proficient with club management software (e.g. Lightspeed, tee sheet, POS, tournament systems).
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, scheduling systems, reporting tools).
- Demonstrated success in player development programs, including juniors, beginners, and advanced golfers.
- Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Experience in retail management, including vendor relations, merchandising, and inventory control.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities including strong public speaking and presentation skills for clinics, events, and member meetings.
- Ability to resolve conflicts diplomatically and maintain positive relationships.
- Professional demeanor with a member-first mindset.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and discretion.
- Passion for growing the game of golf and enhancing the club’s reputation.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by club operations.
- Compensation
- $75,000 - $80,000, based on experience and qualifications.
