Hirsch Creek Golf and Winter Club (HCGWC) offers year-round recreational activities, we play an important role in providing a wide range of services, events, and recreation for the entire community. Our Head Professional will play a key role in our growth and sustainability for years to come.
Surrounded by some of the most stunning mountain scenery in the Province of BC, HCGWC is home to a challenging, 18-hole, par 72 championship golf course. The beautiful front 9, designed by Les Furber, winds its way through the wilderness to create outstanding views. The back 9 is an established layout that blends seamlessly, for an amazing Canadian mountain golf experience. 2026 will see some course re-development and changes to green complexes and bunker restoration. - Responsibilities

Pro Shop Hours
Weekly golf shop operations time will be a requirement, balanced with lessons and management duties
PGA Services
- Outline services available, dates, times and pricing structures
- Work with the General Manager to promote and execute PGA programs and grow the game of golf in Kitimat
- Ensure adequate club repair, fittings and lesson packages are available
- Dedicate time on the driving range interacting with members and guests
- Lead our ‘Ready, Set, Golf’ program for Juniors, Men & Women to continued growth
- Enjoy a busy season of teaching lessons, clinics and camps
Member of Management Team
Recruit, train, empower and support our golf operations team including:
- Pro shop team
- Back shop team
- Player Assistant program
- Increase and maintain daily service levels, through establishing a systems based approach. Create SOP’s and Policies to support.
- Adhere to budgeted expenses in golf operations department and work daily to increase projected revenues
Retail
- Provide an innovate, relevant and exciting retail program in a diverse market with dramatic weather conditions
- Grow relationships with industry and product suppliers while maximizing profits related to golf club, clothing and accessories sales
Event Management
- Organize and execute a variety of member, guest, club and corporate golf events for current and new clients moving to Kitimat
- Coordinate with fellow managers to ensure our team is equally prepared for all events at Hirsch Creek G&WC
Human Resources
- Supervise day to day operations in the pro-shop
- Schedule appropriate staff levels within a provided budget
- Ensure all golf operations team members are prepared for each shift
- Provide professional leadership and mentorship to all team members
Budget
- Assist the General Manager to self monitor departmental budget targets.
- Prepare a detailed budget for your Department Annually
- Work with General Manager in creating a long-term capital plan and vision for HCG&WC

- Compensation
- 85,000 per Annum + 90% of teaching revenue
