We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will work diligently to enhance the guest experience and exceed our member’s and guest’s expectations at the club. The successful candidate will be someone who can thrive in a fast paced, fun and professional environment and will work closely with ownership and other management team members to learn, grow, and look for opportunities to improve club operations.
The Golf Professional/General Manager is responsible for setting the standards of the day-to-day operations in the golf shop, managing food & beverage operations, guest services, member services (events & socials), managing outdoor services and golf instruction. The Golf Professional will report directly to the General Manager (of the resort property) and will assume a leadership role within the golf operations team. This position will help oversee and take on a supportive role in the daily operations of the golf shop, back shop and member and guest
- Responsibilities

- Provide exceptional customer service and be knowledgeable on the products & services we provide in the Golf Shop.
- Be a team leader and lead by example. It is important to inspire motivation and celebrate staff success.
- Be proactive in exceeding guest satisfaction. Investigate, respond and resolve challenges from guests in a timely manner.
- Ensure that standards of service are always met, meeting the requirements of our guests and employees, are constantly being improved upon.
- Manage the back-shop services operation (outdoor services, cart cleaning and course supervision)
- Golf Shop merchandise set up, ensuring our products are up to date and merchandise appropriately
- Manage and run member tournaments & socials with registration, on course proxy’s, scoring and prizing.
- Manage tournament operations where needed (Cart staging, scoring and on course set up) mostly in-house events
- Take on the lead role for all Junior Programs and camps
- Teach Clinics and Lessons to members and public when applicable
- Come up with new initiatives for golf programs at the club to engage guests and members
- Order food & beverage for the resort, manage relationships with Sale reps
- Weekly ordering of alcohol and pick up supplies when necessary
- Manage and oversee the food and beverage operation including cooks
- Hire and recruit food and beverage staff
- Other duties as assigned
- Qualifications

- Class "A" PGA of Canada member in good standing.
- 3 - 5 years of relevant management/leadership experience.
- Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, the rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations.
- Fundamental personnel management and supervising practices.
- Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills.
- Customer service and satisfaction-focused attitude
- Maintain and promote a positive professional image at the club and within the local community.
- Self-motivated with a desire to promote and market the business.
- Smart Serve, WHMIS and Food Handlers certified.
- Technologically inclined including a strong understating of Point-of-Sale systems and associated hardware.
- Ability to maintain a strong relationship with the membership and guests.
- Strong event-management skills including tournament and league coordination.
- Quick learner and creative problem solver- ability to make important decisions on the fly.
- Work effectively within a team management structure.
- Compensation
- Hourly Rate $38.46 per hour/ $60,000 March to November (9 months)
