Job Summary
The RM of Weyburn No. 67 Golf Course is seeking a dynamic, community minded, and collaborative General Manager to oversee pro shop operations, guest services, tournament execution, league play, sponsorship growth, and facility wide administration, including bookkeeping and payroll. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the General Manager will manage daily business operations, drive financial record-keeping, liaise with the Rural Municipality, and foster an exceptional experience for members and guests. The General Manager serves as a key member of a collaborative peer leadership team member working closely with the Maintenance Manager, Kitchen Manager and Golf Professional. The General Manager plays a central coordinating role to align schedules, instructional programs, leagues, and special events, ensuring facility wide efforts are seamless, high quality and enjoyable. This role requires extended operational hours during peak golf season (April to September), balanced by significantly reduced, flexible hours and off-season administration during the winter months (October through to March), all while receiving a consistent year-round, bi-weekly salary. This is an opportunity for a strong leader who enjoys working with people, understands the importance of member and guest experiences, and is comfortable balancing daily operational demands with future growth. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the club continues to be prosperous for its members, players, and for Weyburn and surrounding area community.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee pro shop operations, inventory management, cart fleet rentals, retail sales, tee-sheet management, and daily golf play
  • Manage day to day bookkeeping functions (A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations) process bi-weekly payroll in compliance with Saskatchewan employment standards, apply for and administer summer job grants, and assist the Board with annual budget preparation
  • Plan, market, and execute corporate, charity, and club tournaments as well as weekly league play. Actively recruit, secure and maintain community and corporate sponsorships.
  • Work closely with the Golf Professional (for player formatting, clinics, and event golf operations), the Kitchen Manager (for catering), and the Maintenance Manager (for course set up). Serve as the operational contact working with the RM of Weyburn No. 67.
  • Recruit, train, schedule and mentor seasonal pro shop and guest services staff. Handle all departmental HR matters directly, including ongoing performance coaching, constructive feedback, disciplinary action and terminations in accordance with employment standards.
  • Drive member engagement, retention, and daily green fee traffic through proactive communication, marketing, community outreach, and customer service.
  • Uphold club policies and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for staff and patrons.
Qualifications
  • Management experience in golf operations, business management, hospitality, or a related field
  • Strong team building and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset
  • Supervisory experience, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and handling sensitive HR situations with discretion and confidentiality
  • Bookkeeping and payroll experience, with proficiency using QuickBooks Online and spreadsheet applications (Excel or Sheets)
  • Well organized and capable of balancing operational oversight during peak season with administrative duties in the off-season
  • Solid business acumen, including tournaments and league coordination, retail management, sponsorship growth, and budget tracking
  • Familiarity with golf management software and tee-sheet systems (GolfNow and/or Golf Genius)
  • PGA of Canada designation, bookkeeping certifications, or equivalent practical management experience is considered an asset
  • Experience with grant writing/administration
Compensation
$70,000 - 85,000 + per year, depending on qualifications and experience
