Job Summary

A course this distinguished requires a General Manager with a passion to inspire and drive excellence within the team and for its guests. With a strong golf and food and beverage background, the successful candidate will take on a challenging and rewarding career, managing all the golf club’s business activities. The next General Manager will have a proven track record in managing a membership base, resort-style guest experience, and a significant group of Team Members. They will inspire a high-functioning team in a fast-moving environment and build on the esteemed guest experience. This position reports to the Director of Operations of the GolfBC Group and collaborates with other GolfBC courses and head office Team Members.

Responsibilities

Lead, inspire, motivate, and develop the teams in Course Maintenance, Golf Operations, Food and Beverage, Administration, and Sales & Marketing
Develop programs to excite the Membership group; and maximize the resort and daily green fee play
Capitalize on the premier culinary experience at Table Nineteen, our newly created and well-performing restaurant brand
Prepare and implement long term and annual business plans and budgets
Analyze financial statements and prepare capital and operational plans
Continuously improve Nicklaus North’s product and service quality
Coordinate the variety of business activities Nicklaus North has to offer
Liaise with industry specific organizations including Golf Whistler, Tourism Whistler, Whistler Chamber of Commerce, Hotel and Restaurant Association, Whistler Restaurant Association, etc.
Connect with local businesses to create relationships that enhance the Nicklaus North operation and brand

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years experience, with proven leadership and management skills, in the golf industry
Desire and ability to build and flourish Team Member and guest relationships
Detail oriented business manager with industry-relevant education
Strong golf background including experience in semi-private courses, delivering an exceptional guest experience
Sales and marketing, public relations and human resources knowledge and experience
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to address a large group in a calm and articulate manner
High degree of administrative and executive ability, especially in terms of problem solving and decision making
Knowledge of current federal and local laws and regulations affecting the management of golf operations
