Yarmouth Golf & Curling Club is seeking an experienced, energetic and community- minded General Manager to lead our Club into an exciting new chapter. YGCC is a member-owned club with a proud history, a strong sense of community and a growing membership. Located in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, the Club offers an 18-hole golf course, curling facilities, clubhouse, pro shop and food and beverage operations, along with a variety of golf, curling and community programming.
We are a Club that is growing and looking toward the future. Membership is strong, participation continues to grow, and we are advancing plans for significant facility revitalization. We are looking for a General Manager who can build on this momentum while respecting the traditions and values that have made YGCC an important part of our community.

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the General Manager will provide overall leadership for the Club’s day-to-day operations while working closely with the Board to implement its strategic direction and long-term vision.
This is an opportunity for a strong leader who enjoys working with people, understands the importance of member experience and community relationships, and is comfortable balancing the operational demands of today with the opportunities of tomorrow.
The successful candidate will play an important role in shaping the future of YGCC and helping ensure that the Club continues to thrive for its members and the broader Yarmouth community.
- Responsibilities

- Provide overall leadership and management of the Club’s daily operations.
- Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors to implement strategic priorities and long-term plans.
- Oversee financial management, budgeting, purchasing and financial reporting.
- Recruit, lead, schedule and support seasonal and year-round employees.
- Oversee golf, curling, clubhouse, pro shop, food and beverage and facility operations.
- Build strong relationships with members, guests, employees, suppliers and community partners.
- Support membership recruitment, retention and engagement.
- Ensure a consistently high standard of service and member experience.
- Develop and maintain effective operational policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable employment, health and safety and regulatory requirements.
- Work with the Board and committees on capital projects and the Club’s revitalization initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue, improve operational efficiency and strengthen the Club’s financial sustainability.
- Represent and promote YGCC within the community.
- Provide regular updates, recommendations and reports to the Board of Directors.
- Qualifications

- Previous management experience in a golf club, curling club, recreation facility, hospitality operation or similar organization.
- Demonstrated leadership and staff-management experience.
- Strong financial and budget management skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer-service skills.
- Strong organizational, decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- The ability to work effectively with a volunteer Board of Directors.
- A genuine interest in creating a positive experience for members, guests and the community.
- Knowledge of golf club and/or curling operations is an asset.
- Post-secondary education in business, hospitality, recreation management or a related field is an asset.
- PGA of Canada membership or relevant golf industry experience is an asset.
- Compensation
- $65,000–$75,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
