General Manager: TS&M Woodlawn Golf Club

TS&M Woodlawn Golf Club is seeking an energetic, professional, and customer- focused General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our golf club. We are looking for an individual with strong golf knowledge and industry experience who can provide leadership across golf operations, member and customer service, tournaments, staff management, business operations, and overall guest experience. The successful candidate will be a visible and approachable leader who enjoys being part of a golf community and has the skills, initiative, and leadership ability to help grow and strengthen the club.

Job Summary
The General Manager will be responsible for the overall management and operation of the golf club, working closely with the Board of Directors, staff, members, customers, and community partners. Depending on the successful candidate's experience and qualifications, the role may include both General Manager and Head Professional responsibilities.
Responsibilities

Golf Operations

  • Oversee the daily operation of the golf course and golf shop.
  • Manage tee sheet operations, leagues, tournaments, events, and member services.
  • Provide professional golf instruction, clinics, and player development opportunities, as appropriate.
  • Oversee merchandise purchasing, inventory, pricing, and golf shop operations.
  • Develop programs and initiatives that encourage participation and grow the game of golf.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of golf industry trends, products, and best practices.

Club Management

  • Provide leadership and direction for seasonal and full-time staff.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate employees.
  • Work with the Board of Directors to establish and achieve operational and financial objectives.
  • Assist with budgeting, financial management, purchasing, and cost control.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, sponsors, community organizations, and other business partners.
  • Ensure club policies, procedures, safety standards, and applicable regulations are followed.

Member & Customer Experience

  • Create a welcoming, professional, and enjoyable experience for members, guests, and visitors.
  • Build positive relationships with members and respond professionally to questions, concerns, and feedback.
  • Promote memberships, events, tournaments, leagues, lessons, and other club offerings.
  • Represent TS&M Woodlawn Golf Club professionally within the community.

Marketing & Business Development

  • Assist with developing and executing marketing and promotional initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to increase rounds, memberships, tournaments, food and beverage sales, merchandise sales, and other revenue streams.
  • Maintain an active presence within the local golf and business community.
  • Support sponsorship and partnership development.
  • Identify new opportunities to enhance the club's overall member and guest experience.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Previous experience in golf course, golf club, or hospitality management.
  • Head professional applicants are encouraged and that the dual position is possible.
  • Strong knowledge of the game of golf and golf operations.
  • Experience working as a Head Professional, Assistant Professional, General Manager, Golf Operations Manager, or in a similar role is an asset.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Basic financial and business management knowledge.
  • Experience organizing and managing golf tournaments and events.
  • The ability to work independently while also working effectively with the Board of Directors, staff, members, and volunteers.
  • Strong computer and administrative skills.
  • A positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude.

PGA of Canada membership or professional status is an asset but not required.

Compensation

Salary range: $100,000 to $120,000 CAD annually, with flexibility based on the successful candidate’s experience, expertise, and qualifications.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a key leadership role in the  continued development and success of TS&M Woodlawn Golf Club. Additional details regarding compensation, benefits, golf privileges, and other employment conditions will be discussed with qualified candidates.
