General Manager: Mission Creek Golf Club
In 1979, Ruth and Vic Welder purchased the land adjacent to Mission Creek Greenway and, with the help of their children, developed the property from a former racetrack into a golf course. For the next three generations the club operated with the Welder family until they recently sold to new owner, Harold Rempel.
The Golf Club sits on 50+ acres with a 12,000sq foot clubhouse and includes an 18-hole golf course Par 61 just under 4,000 yards. It is a mid-length option for the Kelowna market which has close to 20 golf courses in town and surrounding area. Kelowna combines a vibrant urban lifestyle with a dramatic natural landscape in the heart of the Okanagan Valley.
With over 250,000 residents in Kelowna and its immediate surrounding area, it has all the amenities of a larger city but still retains its small town vibe and charm. From Osoyoos to Vernon, there are almost 500,000 residents with Kelowna being the central hub of this 4 season tourism destination.

Mission Creek Golf Club is seeking an experienced hospitality leader. One who prides themselves on being a hands-on, visible, and relationship-driven General Manager to lead the Club into its next chapter. A General Manager who can lead the day-to-day operations while bringing a strong commercial and business-development mindset. This is not a caretaker role. The successful candidate will be expected to grow golf activity, deepen tournament and event business, raise service expectations and build an accountable operating culture.
The owner has plans to strategically reinvest into the property. The General Manager will be an important partner in developing this long-term plan of reimagining the property to help maximize the potential of the golf club.

- A proven operator who is comfortable being visibly involved in the business.
- Demonstrated success in revenue growth, business development, customer acquisition, events, hospitality, recreation, or a related field.
- Strong leadership and the ability to create accountability, clear expectations, and a positive performance culture.
- Commercial judgment and comfort working with budgets, financial results and operating KPIs.
- A practical problem-solver who can balance immediate operating needs with longer-term growth and brand development.
- Availability to work around the realities of a golf and hospitality business, including evenings, weekends and key events when required.
- Responsibilities

- Overall day-to-day leadership and operational accountability for Mission Creek Golf Club.
- Golf operations, tee-sheet utilization, customer experience, and staff performance.
- Business development, including tournaments, leagues, groups, partnerships, and new revenue opportunities.
- Mission Creek's market positioning, brand, promotions, and customer-development initiatives.
- Hands-on oversight of food and beverage leadership and coordination of golf/event requirements.
- Close coordination with the Course Superintendent on course conditions, customer expectations, and operating priorities.
- Budgets, labour discipline, KPIs and operating performance in partnership with owner and his CFO.
- Building and developing the management and front-line team required for the next phase of the business.
- Qualifications

- Post-secondary education in business, hospitality, or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience in hospitality
- Golfer or advanced knowledge of the sport to understand the demands of the customer
- Proven success in financial management, team leadership, and operational excellence
- Compensation

- Competitive base salary of $85,000-100,000+, consideration will be given to commensurate with experience
