Job Summary

The general manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling all activities related to the operation and administration of the golf club to ensure its efficiency and profitability. The general manager interprets this mandate in light of the strategic objectives and priorities established by the board of directors and the specific expectations communicated to him or her by the president.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures customer satisfaction.
  • Manages human, financial, and material resources under his or her responsibility.
  • Participates in the preparation of operating budgets.
  • Oversees accounting operations, monitors income and expenses.
  • Recruit, hire, and train new golf operations employees.
  • Ensures the implementation of work schedules and the tracking of hours worked by employees at the tee, locker rooms, bag storage, and patrol areas.
  • Plans and coordinates all Golf Club activities with the Board of Directors or its representatives.
  • Participates in developing prices and rates, promotional strategies, and golf club products and services, and continuously evaluates the situation.
  • Ensures optimal use of all facilities and maximizes profitability.
  • Ensures the smooth running of the Club and golf operations during the golf season and off-season.
  • Follows up on the decisions and directions of the Board of Directors and its committees.
  • Works with the Board of Directors on recruiting new members and managing waiting lists.
  • Proposes agenda items and participates in discussions at Board meetings.
  • Ensures that members, guests, visitors, and attendees at external tournaments are welcomed in an impeccable manner.
  • Commit to maintaining a positive attitude and working toward the Club's goals.
  • Handles the planning, organization, implementation, and hosting of outside tournaments.
  • Represents the Club to associations, business communities, and municipal authorities in accordance with the Board of Directors.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years in management.
  • In-depth knowledge of the golf industry.
  • Experience in event management ;
  • Knowledge of Word and Excel software.
  • Training or experience in administration.
  • Knowledge of the GGGolf system is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of English an asset.
  • Motivational leadership and ability to foster collaboration.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong desire to provide quality customer service.
  • Proactive and able to take initiative.
  • Organizational skills;
  • Budget tracking skills;
  • Management experience;
  • Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously.
Compensation
Salary starting at $90,000 depending on experience and other conditions to be discussed
