Job Summary

The General Manager is the senior leader responsible for the overall performance of Arbutus Ridge Golf Club. This role provides hands-on leadership across golf operations, food and beverage, events, facilities, course maintenance, finance, and member services, while setting service standards and building a strong culture of accountability and hospitality.

You are a highly visible, approachable leader who develops department leaders, creates alignment across teams, and consistently elevates the member and guest experience.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Operations:

  • Lead day-to-day operations across all departments with a hands-on, service-first approach.
  • Set and uphold operational policies, service standards, and training expectations.
  • Recruit, mentor, and performance-manage department leaders and staff.
  • Drive cross-department coordination for daily play, events, and peak-season operations.

Member and guest experience:

  • Build strong relationships with members through visibility, responsiveness, and clear communication.
  • Establish consistent service rhythms (standards, feedback loops, issue resolution) that improve the experience.
  • Support membership growth and retention initiatives.

Financial and business management:

  • Own budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cost controls across departments.
  • Identify and execute revenue opportunities across golf, events, retail, and food and beverage.
  • Track performance against targets and implement corrective actions when needed.

Golf and programming

  • Partner with the Department Heads to maintain high standards for course conditions, pace of play, and programming.
  • Oversee delivery of tournaments, leagues, and member programming.

Facilities and asset management

  • Oversee the clubhouse, course assets, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Plan and manage capital projects and long-term improvements.

Community and partnerships

  • Represent the Club in the local community and develop partnerships that strengthen the Club’s profile.
Qualifications
  • Proven leadership experience in golf club management, hospitality, or a related service industry.
  • Strong financial management skills, including multi-department budgeting and accountability.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated success developing teams and building a positive, high-performance culture.
  • Working knowledge of golf operations and membership dynamics.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and peak-season demands.
Compensation
110,000-130,000 per year, based on experience - Plus benefits and performance incentives
