We are looking for a Director of Golf who’s fresh thinking gets them out of bed every morning and the idea of motivating the team around them puts a spring in their step. The picturesque Northumberland Strait and the salty sea breezes provide an atmosphere to thrive in. As the Director of Golf, you will oversee all golf operations, provide vision, leadership and supervision to the golf staff and deliver exceptional service to club members, the golfing public and our tourist clientele.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you are a team player and will work closely with all department managers.
- Responsibilities

- Interview, hire, train, supervise, schedule and evaluate golf staff
- Provide or assist in customer service training
- Manage the Golf Shop retail sales and provide product knowledge to staff
- Manage and be knowledgeable with the tee sheet and POS software (currently Chronogolf)
- Assist the Games Chairman with club sanctioned events and with the planning of corporate events
- Implement/maintain club policies as set forth by the Board of Directors and/or the General Manager
- Assist with the marketing and promotion of Northumberland Links
- Organize and conduct the Junior Golf Program
- Provide lessons to members and guests
- Assist with yearly budget and planning
- Qualifications
-
- A member of PGA of Canada in good standing
- Have experience as Director of Golf or equivalent experience in a similar role
- Strong leadership and managerial experience
- Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret financial reports and make recommendations minimizing financial risk
- Excellent presentation and communication skills with an ability to work with committees
- Passion for continued learning as a golf professional within the industry
