The Director of Golf/Head Professional is responsible for the overall management of the business and operating affairs of Talking Rock Golf Course. The Director of Golf/Head Professional is a valuable member of the Quaaout Lodge and Talking Rock Resort leadership team and participates in strategic planning for the Resort. This position ensures that the vision of the Skw'lax te Secwépemcúl̓ecw culture is integrated into all aspects of the Golf Operations.

- Responsibilities

• Ensure that the Secwepemc culture is integrated into all aspects of the Golf experience.
• Hire & mentor world class PGA members to lead the Golf Operations team.
• Hire & train all staff (pro shop, guest services, starters/marshals, kiosk, and beverage cart) to ensure an exceptional experience is offered for guests.
• Develop annual operating budgets and future capital projects.
• Development and implementation of all golf instruction programs offered at Talking Rock.
• Develop, execute, and evaluate marketing initiatives for Talking Rock to ensure maximum return on investment.
• Create new programs & offerings as needed to improve the overall success of Talking Rock.
• Continually improve as a Golf Professional with an expectation of being top 10 for the PGA of BC PDP Order of Merit.
• Purchase and manage kiosk inventory, continually using resourcefulness to improve the overall profitability.
• Oversee the purchasing and inventory management of the golf shop
• Be financially accountable for Golf Operations & Kiosk department
• Lead the planning and implementation of special events and tournaments.
- Qualifications

Requirements:
• A proven track record with 5 years minimum of golf operations experience that includes 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Be a Class "A" professional with the PGA of Canada in good standing.
• Clear working knowledge of budget planning and execution.
• Understanding of all golf operations best practices and relevant laws and guidelines.
• Exceptional communication both written and verbal, interpersonal and guest handling skills.
• Self-confident, proactive, strong abilities to prioritize and make effective decisions.
• Personable and professional with the ability to build strong relationships, interact and influence others at all levels of the organization.
• Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Knowledge and understanding of emergency procedures including OH&S rights and responsibilities.
• Prior knowledge with BC Liquor License regulations and F&B management an asset
• Clearance via BC Information criminal record check.
Working conditions:
The role of Director of Golf/Head Professional will primarily be performed in an office environment with long periods of sitting at a desk
Schedule:
This position is a full-time, year round position. The Director of Golf/Head Professionals weekly working hours shall amount to 40 hours for a five-day week. The time of working hours shall depend on operational requirements. The organization reserves the right to request the performance of additional work that goes beyond normal working hours; however, the position is of such a nature that you will not be entitled to overtime compensation or allowances. This is a leadership role and the candidate should be available outside of working hours for employee assistance via phone and email.

- Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 per year.
