Job Summary

The Candidate:

As a successful candidate, you are a highly motivated team player, possess a PGA of Canada or LPGA Class "A" designation. You are committed to the development of athletes on the competitive pathway in golf and are an experienced coach with equivalent combination of education at the college or university level and/or two to three years related employment in the golf industry. Acceptable experience of coaching at the club, college and/or performance academy level will be considered an asset. The candidate will possess a sound understanding of the sport of golf and high performance. Requirements for the position include excellent organizational skills, solid coach ethics and practices as per the Responsible Coaching Movement, a valid passport and driver's license. A vulnerable sector background check is necessary. BC Golf Association requires staff to be vaccinated.

Responsibilities

 

The position reports to the Managing Director of Player Development and is responsible for the following:

  • Act as a Performance Coach with BC Golf
  • Design, administer and execute a Provincial Performance Program
  • Provide ongoing coach support to targeted athletes and lead talent ID for NextGen
  • Coach at Provincial, National and International competitions
  • Collaborate with allied sport and golf partners to support high performance
  • Oversee part-time BC Coaches assisting with teams and training
  • Lead British Columbia to develop the best amateur golfers in Canada

Compensation

The position is a full-time contract with a salary range of 60-64K pending experience and qualifications, with a three month probation period.

Travel allowances and coach education benefits, including CNC/ CDC certification. Potential for contract to be extended to a two-to-three year period is negotiable.
