The Radium Golf Group is proudly owned by Eaglequest Golf Centres and operates two 18-hole golf courses in beautiful Radium Hot Springs, British Columbia. Radium Hot Springs is uniquely located on the edge of one of Canada’s most natural Rocky Mountain National Parks (Kootenay National Park) and overlooks the beautiful headwaters of the Columbia River. In every direction – lakes, rivers and wetlands fill the valley bottom, creating a diverse and rich landscape for wildlife and tranquil adventures. When the day is done, there’s no better place to recount the memories than in the naturally hot and rejuvenating waters of the Radium Hot Springs Mineral Pools.

The Springs Course: Offers championship level golf with a great driving range and practice area. This course sits just above the Columbia River Wetlands with views of the Purcell Mountains to the west and the Rocky Mountains to the east. The course is also home to approximately 140 Bighorn Sheep that roam the fairways. The Clubhouse is set right against the bluffs with stunning views from the full-service patio.

The Radium Course: A Columbia Valley favourite since 1957, the Radium Course is perched high over the Village of Radium Hot Springs in the rugged terrain bordering Kootenay National Park. The course features tight, tree-lined fairways, undulating greens and dramatic elevation changes sure to test players of all abilities.

Job Summary

We are searching for someone who has committed to the learning process of becoming a Business Professional in the golf industry. Playing golf is not your focus, but rather pursuing and furthering your knowledge and skills in the essential areas of: Retail, Events, Tee reservations, Cash reconciliation and Management, Supervision of Golf / Guest Services, Member Leagues and Programs, Golf Instruction, Social Media engagement.

The Assistant / Associate Golf Professional is responsible for effectively managing and overseeing all aspects of the golf operations and the golf experience at the course, including: pro shop, tee sheet management and green fees, guest services, lessons, retail, tournaments, equipment rentals, cart rentals, team building and staff development. The Assistant Golf Professional is a key leader that directs and coordinates the activities of the golfer experience to obtain efficiency and maximize profits by performing duties personally and/or through direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the policies set out by the RGG code of conduct.

• Actively promote Radium Golf Group while at work and in personal endeavours.

• Upholding the highest standards for customer service.

• Actively promotes and exhibits enthusiasm in the work place and among the guests.

• As a retail sales leader you are responsible for helping to drive revenues through actively promoting and educating our guests on Golf Shop merchandise.

• Responsible for ensuring Golf Services employees perform to the highest of service standards.

• Opens golf shop and prepares for daily operations.

• Completes daily reports of all transactions.

• Closes golf shop and reports on daily operations.

• Provides Golf Instruction according to RGG guidelines and as may be required in support of the RGG Academy.

• Promotes safety and security of co-workers, guests, building and assets utilizing policies and procedures developed by The Radium Golf Group.

• Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless team-oriented guest service.

• Provides feedback to the management team on effectiveness of program initiatives.

• Actively and effectively promotes merchandise sales and bundles.

• Actively engages in our Social Media Campaign.

• Anticipate challenges and have a solution-oriented mindset.

• Manages time effectively by focusing on only those things which will contribute to you meeting your objectives.

• Clear communication to guests, members, team members, contractors and vendors.

• Ensure the safety and confidentiality of our members, guests and team members.

• Adhere to rules regarding health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Canadian or International PGA Golf Professional member in good standing.

• A reasonable familiarity and willingness to learn club industry related software and point of sale system, as well as Microsoft Office.

• A service driven individual dedicated to the guest experience with a focus on the requirements of the high-end golf market.

• Excellent oral and written communication and effective listening skills.

• Accepts ownership of organizational goals by exploring different opportunities to add value to the company.

• A keen attention to detail.

• An individual who can make decisions and respond to concerns and questions while remaining positive.

• A valid driver’s licence.

Compensation

• $2800-$4000 per month, depending on experience.

• 70% of individual lesson revenue, 60% of group lesson revenue
