Associate or Assistant Golf Professional: Huron Oaks Golf Club
Founded in the early 1900s, Huron Oaks Golf Club has a long and proud history on the shores of Lake Huron. Around 1915, Canadian beer baron John Labatt built a summer residence and a 6-hole golf course that, over time and through several ownerships, evolved into a full 18-hole championship facility.
In 1975, the Polysar Employees Recreational Club purchased the property, adding a new clubhouse and recreation center and renaming it Huron Oaks. Shortly afterward, a young Mike Weir—future Masters Champion (2003)—honed his skills here during his junior career.
Following a major redesign in 2004, several new holes and an 80-unit residential community were developed, and in 2009, a new Pro Shop overlooking the 1st tee was completed.
Located in Bright’s Grove, just minutes from the City of Sarnia, Huron Oaks offers an exceptional community lifestyle with nearby housing, beautiful beaches within walking distance, and a strong, active membership base. Huron Oaks Golf Club is seeking an Associate or Assistant Golf Professional for the 2026 season. The successful candidate will deliver exceptional customer service to all members and guests while assisting in the overall management of golf operations. Reporting directly to the PGA of Canada Head Professional, this position requires professionalism, enthusiasm, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Responsibilities

- Assist in day-to-day golf operations, including tee sheet management, cart operations, and fee collection
- Merchandise and manage the Pro Shop, including equipment purchasing and inventory control
- Promote and represent Huron Oaks Golf Club to the highest professional standard
- Provide instruction to members and guests across all categories (private, group, junior, etc.)
- Support club repair and fitting services (experience an asset)
- Participate in member events and public speaking opportunities
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment
- Qualifications

- PGA of Canada member (or apprentice) in good standing
- Point-of-sale system and Golf Genius experience preferred but not mandatory
- PGM diploma or equivalent education preferred but not mandatory
- Reasonable playing ability required
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- High energy, outgoing, and team-focused personality
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Good organizational skills required
- Compensation

- $800 – $1,100 per week, commensurate with experience.
