The Calgary Golf & Country Club is expanding our professional staff as we prepare for the 2026 golf season.

Established in 1897, the club is located on the banks of the Elbow River, just south of downtown Calgary. Our membership enjoys one of the finest golf courses in Canada as well as one of the most reputable dining/banquet facilities in the country. We are a private, 18-hole golf facility that includes over 1000 active playing members, an extensive teaching program as well as a dynamic retail operation.

Dennis Firth, Head Golf Professional along with the current Professional Staff, require the services of an Assistant/Apprentice Golf Professional commencing in March 2026, and we are inviting those candidates who are passionate about the golf industry and committed to best-in-class service to forward their names for consideration.

Job Summary
This is a tremendous career opportunity that for the successful candidate, enabling them to grow professionally at one of the most renowned private golf facilities in the country. The position itself will provide the platform to experience all facets of our golf operation, providing an excellent environment to learn and develop as a professional. Most importantly, they will possess a strong desire to work together with their fellow staff to deliver an exceptional experience for the members of Calgary Golf & Country Club and their guests. There is a high priority placed on those seeking a progressive career path that increases in responsibility and accountability, year over year.
Responsibilities
  • Assist a forward-thinking team of professionals to provide “Best in Class” service.
  • Active involvement in day-to-day operations of the Golf Shop, including receiving, special orders and inventory management.
  • Be knowledgeable about the rules of golf, equipment and clothing, current teaching methodologies and trends in the golf industry.
  • Member event preparation and execution.
  • Club fitting as well as minor club repair once training is completed.
  • The ability to deliver a high-quality lesson and clinic experience.
  • Proven playing competency.
Qualifications
  • Member in good standing of the PGA of Canada and/or working towards PGM diploma.
  • Effective communicator, both oral and written.
  • Extremely organized and possesses an exceptional attention to detail.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of Jonas POS, Club Unity Tee Sheet, Golf Genius and Trackman is an asset.
Compensation
The Calgary Golf and Country Club offers an attractive compensation package between $850 - $1000 weekly, commensurate with the experience and quality of the successful candidate.

  • 100% lesson revenue, including camp, clinic and coaching revenue, $5000 - $20,000 potential based on member relationships and individual motivation.

  • PGA of Canada dues reimbursed (payable at end of the season).

In addition, all team members are supported in the development of their professional career on and off the golf course. We encourage our staff to actively seek out such development through member relationships, tournament participation, personal networking and PGA of Canada seminars.

A motivated candidate would have the potential to earn compensation in excess of $65,000 .
