The BackYard is a 22,000 sq. ft. short game practice facility like no other—designed to deliver a fresh, fun, and focused year round golf experience for players of all skill levels. We're looking for a PGA of Canada Assistant Professional who shares our vision and is passionate about coaching, and excited to help shape the future of golf in a hands-on, high-impact environment.

While The BackYard is our main stage, you’ll also contribute to the welcoming culture of Clayton Hills Golf Course, our 9-hole par 3 course that serves as the perfect complement to our mission of golfer development and enjoyment.

Job Summary
This is not your average golf job — and we’re not looking for an average pro. As a key member of a small, passionate team, your role will be dynamic, hands-on, and essential to the success of both The BackYard and Clayton Hills Golf Course.
Responsibilities
You’ll be expected to:
  • Jump in wherever needed — from coaching a short game clinic, to checking in members, to setting up a junior event or even mowing greens!
  • Lead and support player development programs, including private lessons, clinics, and informal games or challenges.
  • Help maintain and elevate the presentation of The BackYard and the Clayton Hills Par 3 course — including light grounds maintenance duties such as mowing, light landscaping, and supporting basic turf care when required
  • .Assist with day-to-day operations, including check-ins, tee sheet management, point-of-sale, merchandise sales, and customer service.
  • Contribute to event execution — from member nights to fun competitions and seasonal programs as well as a number of small events and parties
  • Work closely with a small team where initiative, flexibility, and a “whatever it takes” attitude are valued above rigid job descriptions.
  • Be an ambassador for the game, the facility, and a culture that’s inclusive, energetic, and community-driven.
Qualifications
  • A PGA of Canada Member in good standing.
  • Energized by coaching, mentoring, and player development.
  • Comfortable creating a learning environment that is both welcoming and innovative.
  • A team player who thrives in a collaborative, evolving workplace.
  • Experience with coaching technology, junior programming, and short game instruction is an asset.
  • Past experience working in landscaping or golf course maintenance is also a strong asset.
Compensation
  • $23-26 per hour based on experience.
  • Lesson and clinic revenue opportunities.

Employment Duration
10 Months Full-Time (March-November) with possibility of part time in December/January
