Fairview Mountain Golf Club is a semi-private facility located in South Okanagan Valley in the town of Oliver, British Columbia. Originally established in 1925, FMGC has undergone a few transformations along the way to becoming the 7,000 yard, 18-hole Championship facility it is today.
FMGC has a membership base of 285 and hosts a high volume of daily fee guest players throughout its 8-month playing season. The club prides itself on providing a friendly, enjoyable, high value golfing environment in which our staff “team” and golf professionals work hard to deliver exceptional service in all areas of our facility most importantly our golf experience. Recognized as the “2015 PGA of BC Golf Facility of the Year” and most recently “2020 PGA of BC Golf Shop of the Year” and ranked within Score Golf Magazines 2015 Top 59 Public golf facilities, our club takes great pride being recognized as one of BC’s premier golf destinations. The club offers full club house facilities, member locker rooms, member club storage and full practice facilities including a fully encompassing short game facility.

Reporting directly to the Head Professional the assistant professional will play a key role in our golf operations department.
The position will promote the “ultimate Fairview Mountain golf experience” and ensure our members and guests alike are provided exceptional service and a variety of golf related programs. The potential candidate will need to be a hands on, motivated, personable individual whom has a passion for game and business of golf. This is an ideal opportunity for any individual who desires to further his or hers career , while developing into a future leader within the industry.
- Responsibilities

• Retail Operations, (inventory, receiving, and custom orders)
• Operate junior golf instruction program, as well as individual and group clinics.
• Individual is expected to be an active player and participant in regional tournaments, education seminars, and/or PGA of BC initiatives.
• Planning and promoting member events, corporate events, and leagues.
• Actively participates with fellow staff members as it relates to golf shop sales.
• Maintain and promote a well-respected and professional image with the club, the industry, and the community.
• Minor club repairs
• Assist with day to day operations in the golf shop
• Promote and execute in depth club fitting experiences
- Qualifications
-
• Member in good standing of the PGA of Canada
• Proficient instructor and well versed in the latest club fitting technologies.
• Computer literate, ability and creativity to add content to our website, monthly newsletter, Twitter feed, and Facebook page.
• Familiarity with Lightspeed POS system, Golf Genius, GC Quad and TrackMan is an asset
• Individual is required to be personable and possess natural ability to work with others
• Retail and merchandising experience is an asset
- Compensation

• Monthly base salary $3200 - $3800
• 37.5 required golf shop hours per week
• 100 % of lesson revenues and unlimited teaching opportunities, $10,000-$15,000 in teaching revenue can be easily obtained
