It is located on the Etobicoke and Mississauga border as the Etobicoke Creek meanders through the property. The 18-hole golf course is kept in pristine condition and the friendly atmosphere makes Markland Wood a premiere golfing community. The management team and staff are committed to delivering an outstanding golfing experience for both members and their guests. Job Summary

Markland Wood Golf Club is seeking two motivated Golf Professionals. The desired applicants are ready to step into a key role of the Pro Shop team.

One individual will accept ownership of the club event organization, tee sheet implementation, and member communications.

One individual will accept responsibility for maintaining club storage performance standards, training, and development as well as managing staff scheduling, and facilitating payroll.

The Golf Professionals will report directly to the Head Professional (Associate Professional) as an integral part of the Pro Shop team. They will support the team in executing the daily golf operations and providing an excellent golfing experience for all members and guests.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities - A

• Manage club organized and member driven events using Golf Genius

o Coordinate event details and deliverables with various tournament Committees

o Partner with Food and Beverage Manager for menu pricing and details

o Prepare event registration and website details

o Execute event with sound logistics and keen interest in exceeding member expectations

• Manage the tee sheet structure that is applied for daily use (Jonas Software)

o Prepare tee sheet templates

o Apply member category and guest restrictions

o Control daily tee sheet lottery

• Manage weekly member communications via the pro shop newsletter

o Communicate key information to the members to drive engagement

o Focus on member experience for upcoming club events

o Celebrate results of completed club events

Key Responsibilities - B

• Oversee and lead club storage performance standards, training, and development

o Club Storage & Range Member Service Employees

• Manage staff scheduling for daily operations and special events

o Maintain appropriate staff levels through recruitment and retention

o Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee information

• Facilitate bi-weekly payroll reports in conjunction with the clubs Office Manager General Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily golf operations under the direction of the Head Professional

• Enforce club rules and regulations

• Tee time management, handle incoming phone calls for bookings and event management

• Carry out opening and closing details including till reconciliation and site security

• Process payments including shop purchases and guest fees

• Ensure the golf shop is kept organized, tidy, and is always well presented

• Manage outside services and ensure duties are being completed

• Administrative duties as assigned by the Head Professional

• Teach lessons, clinics, and assist in the junior program

• Working hours based on daily demands. Flexibility is required (mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays)

Qualifications

• PGA of Canada member in good standing

• Experience with Golf Genius and JONAS software

• Fundamental knowledge of the Rules of Golf and WHS handicapping

• Fundamental knowledge of club fitting and club repair

• Desire to exceed member expectations

• Work effectively in a team structure with excellent oral and written communication skills

• Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

• Computer literate with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)

• Experience with TrackMan an asset
