We are growing and currently seeking an Assistant Golf Professional that will join our team of PGA Professionals. The position will involve golf operations, retail experience, staff management, and daily operations. The successful candidate will work closely with Director of Golf in developing member experiences.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be energetic and enthusiastic, committed to long term career development within the industry. Positive, professional attitude with strong interpersonal skills will allow you to assist our members and their guests with the highest levels of customer service daily.

The successful candidate will lead 30+ staff and management key member events. This is an ideal position for an individual looking to advance their career.

Responsibilities

 

• Oversee golf operations staff training and development

• Create and maintain an excellent work environment based upon teamwork and mutual respect

• Product receiving including inventory control and management. Work closely with the merchandiser in developing sales and promotions

• Responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of The Golf Shop and outside golf services

• Manage all service employees and support staff in preparing and executing member events

• Embrace and enforce the directives and policies

• Sit on club committees while providing feedback and ideas

• Coach and counsel golf operations staff to ensure The Club is providing service excellence to the membership and guests • Encouraged to play with the membership on a regular basis

• Pro Shop sales, merchandising, and system management.

• Expected to teach and assist in instruction programs

Professional Development

• The candidate will stay current with all trends and best practices within the golf industry

• Continue to develop professional and teaching skills through participation in industry or business-related courses and seminars

• Passion for professional growth and development

Qualifications

The position reporting directly to The Director of Golf, successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision and management of golf operations staff.

We are seeking a PGA of Canada member who has the following attributes:

• PGA of Canada Member in good standing with a passion for development and mentorship

• Strong member service and member relations background. Passion for great member service

• Strong organizational skills

• Have the skills and personality to create a professional and welcoming atmosphere that provides exceptional service to our members and their guests

• Passionate about development within the industry and wiliness to learn and grow as a professional

• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to multi task and deal with members and their guests in an efficient, timely, and congenial manner

• Experience of tournament organization and execution within a private golf atmosphere

• Experience within sales, merchandising, and inventory management

• Be an effective team builder and a leader with excellent communication, management, and organizational skills

• Teaching, club fitting, and club repair experience

Compensation

The compensation package will be negotiated and discussed upon acceptance of the position. Salary will be reflected based on the candidate’s experience, ambition, and vision.

In addition, you will receive a percentage of lesson revenue, benefit plan, clothing package, staff playing package, and other benefits to be negotiated upon acceptance of the position. We are proud to offer a competitive compensation package.

Employment Duration
Period of employment will be approximately March 15th – November 20th with possible extensions available.
