Job Summary

The Assistant Professional will work closely with the Head Professional to provide exceptional service to our members and guests, contributing to the success of daily operations, golf lessons, events, and retail operations. About Our Professional Team Compliment

At Sturgeon Valley Golf & Country Club, our team of 2-3 assistant professionals brings a diverse set of skills to the table. We are looking for a new team member who can integrate well into our collaborative environment, supporting co-workers and contributing to the overall operations of the course, from junior programming to tournaments, leagues, and daily operations.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering exceptional service to our members and guests, with responsibilities that include:

  • Providing outstanding customer service to ensure a positive experience for all members and guests and ensuring accuracy of tasks
  • Supervising and training outside services staff to maintain high standards of service
  • Managing daily tee sheet operations, ensuring smooth scheduling and a seamless golfing experience
  • Supporting the execution of club events, leagues, and corporate tournaments
  • Overseeing the first tee and pace of play to maintain an efficient flow of the golf course
  • Assisting with retail displays, sales, and custom club fitting to enhance the pro shop’s offerings
  • Promoting a clean, safe, and welcoming work environment for the entire team
  • Assisting with club repairs and re-gripping

In 3 months, you’ll have met these deliverables within your role as Assistant Professional:

  • Creating and carrying out junior programming to engage our young golfers
  • Teaching member golf lessons and providing support for leagues and tournaments throughout the 2025 season
  • Developed a solid grasp of merchandising, contributing to the success of the pro shop and course
  • Support daily operational activities independently, ensuring smooth and efficient day-to- day operations of the course
Qualifications
  • PGA of Canada Membership in good standing
  • Previous experience in a high-service-level semi-private or private club environment, with a focus on delivering exceptional member experiences
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and build relationships with members and colleagues effectively
  • Experience with Jonas and Club Unity is an asset
  • Experience with Golf Genius Software or similar software is highly preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • A strong drive to advance their career in the golf industry
Compensation
We offer a competitive salary range of $3000 - $3800 per month, based on experience, and offer 100% of lesson revenue.

Employment Duration
Full-time, seasonal employment for 7-9 months.
