Smithers Golf & Country Club (SGCC) is a public golf facility located in Smithers, British Columbia. Smithers was recently voted one of the best small towns in BC and our course exemplifies why. Situated at the base of Hudson Bay Mountain, the course offers picturesque views in every direction and the Bulkley Valley itself offers a wide range of activates for the outdoor enthusiast.

SGCC’s goal is to provide a welcoming and fun environment where the community and club members want to spend their recreation time. SGCC provides exemplary customer service, a fully stocked pro shop, leagues, tournaments, and instruction to players of all abilities. SGCC is actively seeking the services of a CPGA Assistant Professional or Apprentice Professional for the 2023 season and beyond.

Job Summary

To assist and collaborate with the Head Golf Professional/Director of Golf to control all aspects of the Pro Shop, driving range, cart fleet, and golf related operations.
The Assistant Professional promotes the club through the organization of tournaments, programs, events, and providing golf instruction to the members and public.
While a certified professional is preferred, lesser qualified candidates will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the day-to-day operation of the golf shop

• Manage the guest services team

• Retail Sales

• Merchandising the golf shop

• Play golf with the membership

• Maintaining control of the first tee and on course play

• Assisting with tournament operations

• Inventory Management

• Assist with the Junior Program

• Teach Clinics and Lessons to members and guests

• Organization of Men’s Night and Ladies Day

Qualifications

• Member in good standing of the PGA of Canada

• Ability to deliver exceptional customer service

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Excellent computer skills

• Experience in organizing golf events

• Understanding of club fitting

• Experience with a Junior Golf Program and Golf Instruction

• Energetic and motivated to succeed in the Golf Industry.

• Under implementation of lesser qualified candidates will be considered.

Compensation

• $3500 to $4200 per month (Assistant Professional) based on experience

• Lesson Revenue 95%
