Assistant Golf Professional: Inglewood Golf & Curling Club - Calgary, AB

Inglewood is a semi-private, non-profit recreational facility, which operates year-round as one of Calgary’s finest 18-hole Championship Golf Courses. Complete with a full-service clubhouse, banquet area and lounge, retail pro shop, two Trackman golf simulators, 31 stall driving range, short game practice area, and a six-sheet curling facility.

Inglewood Golf & Curling Club is one of Calgary’s busiest golf courses and the candidate will need to be able to function is a fast-paced, high demand environment.

Job Summary
Inglewood Golf & Curling Club is looking for a PGA of Canada Assistant Golf Professional for the 2023 season and beyond.
Responsibilities

Your duties will include but are not be limited to:

• Provide exceptional customer service to members and guests.

• Assist in training, development and supervision of daily activities and duties of the golf operation.

• Junior Program Coordinator.

• Administration of our retail program in collaboration with our Retail Manager.

• Supervision of golf shop staff and administration of Outside Service department along with our Outside Service Coordinator.

• Organization and execution of leagues and tournaments as assigned by the Head Golf Professional.

• Corporate sales and club fitting.

• Playing golf with members.

• Teaching golf to members, guests, and the public.

• Day to day tee sheet management and front counter duties.

• Implement all policies and plans established by the Head Golf Professional relating to the Pro Shop operation.

Qualifications

• PGA of Canada member in good standing

• Exceptional communication skills.

• Positive attitude and team first mentality.

• Outgoing and energetic personality with the desire to grow within the golf industry.

• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Leadership and staff management qualities.

• Club fitting and teaching knowledge.

• Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma is an asset.

• Knowledge of Golf Genius, and Jonas is an asset.

• Trackman knowledge and experience is an asset.

Compensation

• Monthly salary of $3,500.

• Pro Shop Sales Commission.

• Lesson revenue (potential to earn $10,000 - $20,000+ annually).

Employment Duration
  • 10-month term contract with potential to become year-round.
  • Based off performance candidate has ability to become year-round.

The anticipated start date is January 15th, 2023 and the candidate has flexibility to work after the term in an hourly capacity.
