Birchbank (Viaggio) Golf Club is seeking the services of a PGA of Canada Assistant Golf Professional for the 2023 season. Birchbank Golf Club is located in the south west region of British Columbia's Kootenay interior situated between Trail & Castlegar. Birchbank is rich in history established in 1961 now under new ownership of the Viaggio Hospitality Group from Vancouver. We have and continue to undergo changes and improvements to the golf course & Bistro Restaurant.

Situated along the banks of the Columbia River Birchbank is always an excellently conditioned course that plays to all levels. This tree lined golf course is a must play in the area.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Golf the successful candidate will be a key member of our professional team and will be responsible for contributing to all aspects of golf operations. This is a tremendous opportunity for the right individual to advance their career and gain valuable experience leading the golf operations team. We are looking for a highly motivated and well-organized individual to fill the role of PGA of Canada Assistant Golf Professional.

The opportunity for outdoor recreation and adventure in the Kootenay area is endless with the beautiful lakes to the North and Red Mountain Ski Resort a 15-minute drive away. Responsibilities

Responsibilities consist of but not limited to:

• Provide excellent communication, customer service, professional advice and assistance to all guests

• Provide a professional and enjoyable environment for all staff members

• Oversee the daily tee times and maintain the pace of play on the course

• Be responsible for the effective management of the first tee

• Ensure guest check-in and fee collection

• Oversee outside service staff, starters and marshals

• Assist in the receipt, display, inventory control, promotion and sales of merchandise

• Conduct and maintain a professional image and manner at all times

• Promote all club activities and services

• Assist with the co-ordination of Men’s Club, Ladies Club & Retirees Club

• Schedule and manage the Course Ambassador’s

• Preform basic club repair

• Additional responsibilities as directed by the Director of Golf

• Knowledge in Callaway Club Fitting would be an asset

Qualifications

• Member of the PGA of Canada in good standing

• Ability to deliver exceptional customer service

• Highly effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills

• Strong merchandising and retail skills

• Excellent Instructional skills for lessons

• Excellent computer skills

• Energetic and motivated to succeed in the Golf Industry

• Ability to work in a team environment, with a positive attitude

• Available to work all shifts

Compensation

• $3200 - $3800 per month based on experience
