Job Summary
Reporting to the Head Golf Professional & working within the golf operations team, the Golf Professional will assist with the day-to day operation of the golf department while developing their skills in member service, tournaments, retail, golf programming, and instruction. This position is ideal for an emerging professional who is eager to learn, contribute, and take on increasing responsibility within a private club.
Responsibilities
  • Provide friendly, professional service to members and guests.
  • Assist with daily golf operations, including tee time management & pace of play monitoring.
  • Assist with organizing and conducting club tournaments, leagues, events, and competitions.
  • Assist with junior golf programs, clinics, and player-development initiatives.
  • Support the operation and presentation of the golf shop.
  • Assist with merchandising, inventory, and retail sales.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of golf equipment, apparel, rules, and etiquette.
  • Provide individual and group golf instruction as appropriate.
  • Build positive relationships with members and contribute to a welcoming club atmosphere.
  • Maintain a professional presence throughout the golf course, practice areas, and clubhouse.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as experience and knowledge develop.
Qualifications
  • PGA of Canada membership or enrollment in the professional program is necessary.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of the game of golf, including rules, etiquette, and basic instruction.
  • Ability to handle a wide range of tasks while effectively prioritizing workloads based on members needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
Compensation
  • $4,000–$4,500 per month, based on experience and qualifications.
  • 100% of lesson revenue
