Reporting directly to the Director of Golf, the Assistant Golf Professional plays a key role in delivering a premier golf experience for members and their guests. This position combines instruction, event coordination, retail operations, and golf service management. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional professionalism, communication skills, and a strong passion for the game and the profession.

- Responsibilities

Golf Operations & Member Services
- Support daily golf operations, including tee sheet management, practice facility supervision, and member service delivery.
- Ensure all aspects of the member and guest experience reflect Westmount’s commitment to excellence.
- Assist with bag storage, club repair, and the caddie program to maintain seamless service standards.
Event & Tournament Administration
- Lead and assist in all Ladies’ Day golf activities, Member Guest events, Corporate events, Men’s events, and Mixed events.
- Ensure all tournaments and activities are executed with exceptional attention to detail, professionalism, and member engagement.
- Collaborate with the professional team under Westmount’s succession-based structure, ensuring that leadership opportunities are shared and event responsibilities are clearly defined within the team.
Teaching & Player Development
- Provide individual and group instruction to members, applying modern teaching methods.
- Lead or assist in junior, women’s, and recreational programming to promote growth in participation.
- Contribute to Westmount’s culture of learning, player development, and coaching excellence.
Retail & Business Operations
- Support the Professional Shop’s retail operations, including sales, merchandising, and inventory control.
- Offer expert advice in equipment selection, club fitting, and repair services (including electonic hand cart program oversight).
- Maintain a polished, professional retail environment aligned with the Westmount brand.
Technology & Program Management
- Utilize ForeTees, Jonas, Golf Genius and Smart Golf systems to manage operations, tee sheets, and event logistics.
- Support reciprocal and guest play arrangements to enhance the member experience.
Team & Professional Support
- Serve as a role model for seasonal staff, promoting professionalism and teamwork.
- Work collaboratively within a succession-oriented team framework, ensuring consistent service excellence and professional growth across all levels.
- Contribute to Westmount’s collective goal of delivering a first-class member experience through teamwork, innovation, and shared accountability.
- Qualifications

Education & Certification
- Member in good standing of the PGA of Canada, or actively pursuing membership.
- Additional credentials in instruction, club fitting, or golf operations considered an asset.
Professional Experience
- Prior experience in golf operations, tournament administration, and teaching at a private or resort club preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to provide first-class member and guest service.

- Bi-weekly wage: $1,700–$1,850 (based on experience and qualifications)
