Job Summary

Owl’s Head Golf Club is looking for an Assistant Golf Professional to join its team. You will assist the Head Golf Professional in the club’s daily operations and provide golf instruction. The selected candidate may also have the opportunity for year round employment by combining this role with a winter position at Owl’s Head Ski Resort. Do you want to be part of our success? As the Assistant Golf Professional, you are the golf professional’s closest partner in the daily management of the club and the guardian of the customer experience, both on the course and in the shop. With your service mindset, expertise, and passion for the game, you support members and guests, share your knowledge with golfers of all levels, and help create a welcoming, professional, and memorable atmosphere. Each day, you ensure that everything runs smoothly — from well-maintained carts to well-managed tee times — so that the joy of golf goes hand in hand with excellence, hospitality, and respect.

Responsibilities

Golf Operations Support:

  • Assist the Head Golf Professional in the daily management of club operations;
  • Welcome golfers and ensure the quality of their experience before, during, and after their round;
  • Oversee tee time management, pace of play, and on-course coordination;
  • Ensure the daily maintenance and efficient operation of golf carts;
  • Manage the members’ equipment storage and practice areas;
  • Participate in the planning, coordination, and execution of events (tournaments, member activities, demo days).

Instruction and Golfer Services:

  • Provide golf instruction to members and guests through private lessons and clinics;
  • Deliver a personalized, professional service that promotes skill development and enjoyment of the game;
  • Participate in club repair, fitting, and maintenance services.

Administrative and Pro Shop Duties:

  • Contribute to pro shop sales growth through event development and sales strategy initiatives;
  • Participate in the daily operations of the shop, including customer service, sales, and merchandising;
  • Handle merchandise orders, verify delivery slips and invoices;
  • Assist with inventory management;
  • Contribute to staff scheduling and other administrative tasks related to operations.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform any other related tasks required to ensure the smooth operation and reputation of the club.

 

Qualifications
  • Experience in golf instruction;
  • Previous golf club experience (asset);
  • Member in good standing with the PGA of Canada;
  • Flexibility, professionalism, and strong attention to detail;
  • Autonomous, well organized, and able to manage priorities;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Bilingual (English and French), both spoken and written.
Compensation
Weekly salary between $710 and $1060
