- Job Summary
- Quarry Lion Golf Resort is looking for dynamic individual to join our turf crew as an Assistant Superintendent. Your primarily responsibility is to perform day-to-day golf course maintenance practices to play a key role in keeping the grounds as pristine as possible for our guests. This is an ideal position for those who are looking to engage themselves within the Turf Management Industry while working alongside an energetic management team dedicated to excellence and success. In this role, you will assist in the management and maintenance of all aspects of the golf course and surrounding grounds.
- Responsibilities

- Works with the General manager and other key staff members to constantly improve the golf course, club grounds, and maintenance facility
- Assist in the development of golf course maintenance and operating procedures
- Assist in the maintenance, care and improvement of the course grounds and facilities, including maintenance facilities, irrigation systems, golf course machinery and fertilizer/pesticide programs
- Orientates each individual crew member to obtain a thorough understanding of their job classification, objectives, and duties
- Help schedule and supervise the daily operations of the maintenance crew
- Always communicates in a professional manner including to subordinates, management, other staff on property, suppliers, as well as member and other guests
- Have a strong understanding and continue to expand in turf grass culture, course conditioning, course construction and reconstruction, and up to date rules of golf, the proper use of fertilizers and pesticides as well as staying up to date on new golf course equipment, including irrigation equipment
- Assist in establishing, promoting, and enforcing safety practices in accordance with company and provincial regulations
- Regularly contribute to the pesticide and fertilizer management practices stressing IPM
- Supervises and assists maintenance staff in daily duties
- Makes recommendations to the Superintendent on the daily condition of the golf course
- Follow all Company policies and procedures
- Qualifications

- Minimum 2 years experience in golf course maintenance
- Degree or Certificate in Turf Management (or related field, like agronomy, horticulture, plant science, soil science)
- Pesticide Application License
- Valid Landscape Exterminators License, or willing to achieve
- Knowledge of IPM principals
- Knowledge of sprayer/fertilizer calibration, operation, and application
- Knowledge of irrigation principles including operation and repair
- Driver’s license with clean driving record
- Self-motivated and able to work effectively
- Weekend availability is required
