Ethan Banks
About
My name is Ethan Banks, and I’m proud to have recently earned my Apprentice Professional status with the PGA of Canada. I currently work at Stewart Creek Golf & Country Club in Canmore, AB, where I’m able to combine my passion for the game with the opportunity to grow as a professional in the golf industry.
After graduating high school, I spent a year training at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, to pursue competitive golf. During that time, I was fortunate to receive multiple NCAA offers, but I ultimately made the decision to return home to Calgary to focus on academics, enrolling in the BSc Astrophysics program at the University of Calgary.
While at UCalgary, I competed with the Dino’s Golf Team for five years, gaining incredible experiences both on and off the course. My proudest accomplishments with the team include winning the 2021 Canada West Championship at Squamish Valley Golf Club, winning the 2021 Battle at the Bear at the Okanagan Valley Golf Club, and subsequently being one of the nominees for "Athlete of the Year" from the University of Calgary Dino's, ultimately winning an Award of Merit.
Today, I continue to stay closely involved with the program as a second-year assistant coach for the Dino’s golf team. Coaching has given me a new perspective on the game and allowed me to support younger athletes as they develop their skills and confidence. Looking ahead, I’m excited to keep building my career in golf, both as a coach and a player, while striving toward my professional playing goals.
