Jean-François Richard
About
Dr. Jean-François Richard is a Class A Teaching Professional with the Louis Melanson Golf Academy in Moncton, N.B. and is the Golf NB Provincial Junior Boys Coach. Jean-François has taught and coached extensively since his entry into the PGA of Canada in 2017 and is also very active as a Learning Facilitator and Coach Evaluator for both the PGA of Canada's Training Academy and the Coaching Association of Canada's NCCP. Jean-François facilitates various courses and workshops (regional and national) not only to PGA of Canada members but also to coaches in various multi-sport settings (Instruction Stream, CNC and CDC coaching streams).
As a late comer to the golf industry, Jean-François has spent the past 25 years in higher education as a professor, researcher and administrator (Dean and AVP Academic) at the Université de Moncton. He has also spent a significant part of his career as coach and coach educator in hockey, athletics.
Jean-François is a graduate of the Université Laval in Quebec City where he received a Ph.D. in Physical Activity Sciences in 1998. As a scholar-practitioner with a particular interest in sport pedagogy and coaching science, Jean-François has published over 50 refereed papers including research articles, one book and four book chapters. In 2007, Jean-François received the Dr. R. Tait Mackenzie Scholar Award for his contributions to teaching and teacher education. This recognition was awarded by the Canadian Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (CAHPERD).
