About

PGA of Canada Member since 2009

Courses Worked at: Nipawin Evergreen, Waskesiu Golf Course, The Winston Golf Club (formerly The Calgary Elks Lodge & Golf Club)

What or who influenced you into becoming a golf professional: I had just graduated from Mount Royal University and finished working for the 2009 Tim Hortons Brier when my Head Professional at the time, Wayne Fairbairn, asked if I ever considered becoming a Golf Professional. He told me what was involved and what career paths could be available, so I signed up for the Player’s Ability Test in Alberta; I had decided if I got my card on the first attempt I would become a Golf Professional, and if I didn’t pass my PAT, then I would explore other career fields. Thirteen years later, I am still a Golf Professional!

What is your favourite golf course in the world? I still enjoy going back home to Northern Saskatchewan and playing the course I grew up on, Nipawin Evergreen, because I get to golf with my family, friends, and Head Professional, Derrick Tallon – all of who had a significant impact on my golf career. It’s always meaningful when I have the annual opportunity to play there.
Favorite Courses also include Waskesiu, Jasper, and Cochise/Geronimo.

What do you like most about being a Golf Professional: I love having the opportunity to combine my passion for golf along with business. I really enjoy getting women involved in the game of golf with group lessons as well. I couldn’t imagine my life without golf and I want to be able to share that experience with other females who may be scare or intimidated to try golf – it’s all about breaking down barriers and creating a fun, inclusive, and safe environment.

Other Interests, Hobbies and Passions: hockey, ringette, and the Calgary Flames
