Jake Martin
About
Born and raised in Calgary, Jake Martin was introduced to the game of golf at a young age by his grandfather, a scratch handicap whose passion for the sport left a lasting impression. Jake quickly fell in love with the game, developing both skill and competitiveness. As a junior golfer, he played at an elite level and recorded his first hole-in-one at just 15 years old during a CJGA tournament at Lynx Ridge—an early milestone that foreshadowed his future in the sport.
At 21, Jake earned his Professional Status and began his career at Lakeside Greens Golf Club in Chestermere. Over three years as an Assistant Professional, he delivered lessons, supported player development, and built strong relationships within the golfing community. His commitment to continuous growth later led him to pursue higher education, completing a Bachelor’s degree in Ecotourism and Outdoor Leadership from Mount Royal University.
Beyond the course, Jake spent a decade with WestJet, where he refined his ability to deliver a world-class guest experience—skills that would ultimately elevate his approach to coaching and golf operations. After returning to competitive Amateur golf in recent years, Jake has competed in Alberta Golf events and secured several victories on the Alberta Golf Tour. Most recently, he spent the summer working at The Winston, further strengthening his ties within the Alberta golf industry.
A dedicated family man and a passionate advocate for growing the game, Jake is driven by a desire to help players of all ages and abilities enjoy golf more deeply by improving their skills and confidence. He is currently furthering his professional development by pursuing a Golf and Resort Management Diploma through McMaster University.
Jake Martin remains committed to excellence—on the course, in the community, and in shaping the future of the sport he loves.
