About
Born and raised in Saskatchewan, I grew up playing hockey, baseball and volleyball. There was not a golf course in Wawota so did not golf much (once in a while at Kenosee Lake).
I am more of a businessman than a golf guy as I was in business with my brother for 17 years with 4 department stores and a dry cleaning operation.
Going through a midlife crisis was not sure if I wanted to buy a Harley Davidson or go back to school to pursue my passion for golf and my experience in business.. I packed my bags and moved to Victoria to attend the PGM program at Camosun College. I joined the Golf BC team and learned a lot in the golf industry, I became the Director of Golf at Olympic View and soon saw the importance of growing our game from the youth up,
I moved to Alberta in 2009 to a small town golf club (Collicutt Siding Golf Club in Crossfield) where we had 2 juniors (both well known in the golf community, Riley Fleming and Patrick Murphy).
We started the CSGC Junior Academy and had 56 kids the first year. It grew to over 1,000 kids in 2017. We rebranded in 2017 when a local developer approached us and we became "Dream Junior Golf Academy". Crossfield is a town of 3,000 residents, our kids come from as far south as Heritage Point and as far north as Red Deer, from Cochrane to Chestermere.
I have a great team of 24 volunteers that help instruct. We get lots of accolades from the parents but the best part is seeing the smiles of the children and watching them progress in the sport of golf.
