About
Wayne Allen was introduced to golf at the influential age of 10. His parents gave him a set of golf clubs for Christmas… which was certainly a gift that has kept on giving!
Born and raised in England, playing golf was very much an everyday part of Wayne's childhood. Wayne was a junior member of the West Hill Golf Club in Surrey, England where he got his handicap down to scratch. After College, Wayne decided to turn professional and become a member of the P.G.A. and began his golf career as a trainee with Hazelwood Golf Club in Middlesex, England. He then moved to Scotland as Head Assistant Professional at Whitekirk Golf Course in East Lothian, just outside of Edinburgh. It was here that Wayne gained his British P.G.A. Qualification. Wayne was then offered the Head Professional position at the Pyramids Golf Club in Cairo, Egypt. Following this, Wayne worked as Head Professional with Tobago Plantations Beach & Golf Resort in Trinidad & Tobago, West Indies before starting with Humber Valley Resort as Director of Golf in January, 2003.
Now based at Blomidon Golf & Country Club in Corner Brook, Newfoundland Wayne's focus is on establishing and developing a strong junior involvement on the west coast of Newfoundland. Wayne also works as Head Coach for Team NL and is very passionate about developing a strong provincial team. Throughout his career, Wayne continued to play tournaments on various tours in Europe and even wrote a monthly teaching column for a sports magazine in Cairo and has been featured in Golf Tips Magazine.
